Ms. Joanne McFarland & Ms. Widline Senecharles’ Summer Camp 2015 Welcome to Summer Camp! 6/2/2015 Hello parents! We have 7 weeks of fun-filled, educational, and exciting activities planned for your child! Below is a listing of our offerings this year for upcoming 1st – 3rd graders. Space is limited, so if you’d like to sign up, please contact our front office. Week 1 6/8 – 6/12 Little Sprouts Week 2 6/15 – 6/19 Around the World Week 3 6/22 – 6/26 Future Scientists Week 4 6/29 – 7/3 Arty Party Week 5 7/06 – 7/10 Culinary Kids Week 6 7/13 – 7/17 Animal Adventures Week 7 7/20 – 7/24 We've Got Game! Join us while the weather is still relatively moderate to learn all about plants! We will hoe, plant, sprout, water, and beautify a garden plot at MMS, and also grow potted plants to take home and nurture. Each day will include a craft, working outside (weather permitting), and a lesson about the life cycle of plants. Be prepared to get dirty! We will "visit" a different country every day in this camp for rising 1st through rising 3rd graders. Each day we will learn about the culture from different countries, and make a craft, have a snack, and play a game from that country. Join us for a trip Around the World in Five Days! Engage your mind and stretch your horizons through hands-on, lab-based science activities. We will use inquiry-based learning techniques, constructed by true scientists, to discover the world around us. But don't worry, parents, it will be safe for the little ones! Bring out your inner artist! Students will learn several different art and crafts in this camp, including painting, collage, sculpture, and clay, to name rd a few. NO CAMP ON FRIDAY, JULY 3 ! Let's get cookin'! Rising 1st through 3rd graders will learn how to make and cook a variety of dishes. Some will be cooked in the oven or on the stove, and some will be a no bake recipe. Then comes the fun part - we get to taste our creations! We will also make a craft in this camp, too. This week will be all about animals! We'll learn about animals from different countries, do animal crafts, and even dress up like an animal! Come walk on the wild side! Games, games, games! Come play with us as we explore board games, outdoor games, video games, and educational games. Some games will be played on teams, some individually, and some will be head to head. So come on - We've Got Game! Things to Bring to Summer Camp 1. 2. Lunch: Please have your child bring a lunch that does not need to be heated or refrigerated. Splash Day: Every Friday is Splash day. The children may wear their swim suit to school or may bring their swim suit to change. Please make sure your child has a towel, a change of clothes (just in case!), and sunscreen. If your child has a food allergy, please email us so we can plan our snacks accordingly. We are looking forward to a great summer! Sincerely, Ms. Joanne McFarland (jmcfarland@millhopper.com) Ms. Widline Senecharles (widline_s@yahoo.com)
