Enrollment for AP Art History Course Now Underway
Montgomery, Alabama-Area teens who are fascinated with exploring art from
a historical perspective can now turn their curiosity into a grade. Starting August
13, 2014, students can enroll in a AP Art History course that will allow them to
explore major forms of artistic expression including architecture, sculpture,
painting, and other media from across a variety of cultures.
The course will be offered daily from 7:25 to 8:15 A.M. Those selected will also
get the opportunity to encounter original artwork from collections not only here in
Montgomery, but Birmingham and Atlanta too. Although AP Art is a challenging
and fun program, it could lead to participants developing a lifelong love of
museums and fine art.

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is seeking applicants for the 2014/2015 AP
Art History class, which meets daily at 7:25 AM in the Museum library. While
exploring works of art from ancient world cultures to those of present, students
from local schools share ideas and experiences. The group also encounters original
works of art in collections in Montgomery, Birmingham, and Atlanta. A
challenging program, AP Art is the perfect foundation for a life long love of
Museums and fine art and a broad introduction to the connections
