Gallipoli Campaign Exhibition Visit
Join us in visiting the Home/Front Exhibition at the
Penrith Regional Gallery & Lewers Bequest, Emu Plains
15th May. Life size drawings and personal effects of the
Australian soldiers & nurses. Entry is free, transport is
available $5 /p. The bus will depart from MMNC 9.30am

The Lawson chapter of ‘Lit.knits’
meets in the library 10am – 1pm twice a month. Join us to
chat, knit or crochet 10”/25cm squares to make wraps for
the needy or bring your donations of yarn, squares or

We have 4 exercise classes weekly at Bullaburra hall.

about treatments, strategies for coping or just getting out
of the house and talking to people on a similar journey.

Join the Mid Mountains Walkers and walk & talk together
for 45-60 minutes in local streets in the Mid Mountains.
Walkers usually stop for a coffee after the walk. Meet us
at 9:15am for a 9:30 start on Monday & Friday from

The 11th of May is National
Volunteer Week
and
we
congratulate our long term
volunteers celebrating 10 years of service - Narelle
Bowen, Robyn Artup, Michael Morley and Malu Hall.
Their commitment and ongoing support is extraordinary!
We also congratulate our new group of 11 Volunteers
who completed their training.
Palliative Care week commences on 25th of May. We are
running a raffle to cover the costs of Rural volunteers in
attending the NSW Palliative Care Volunteer Conference.
Tickets are $2 and available at Reception at MMNC. Prizes
include: 1st Prize Family Pass to Taronga Zoo & Taronga
Western Plains Zoo (x2) 2nd Prize Hand Made Quilt
donated by the Upper Blue Mountains Ladies Probus
Club 3rd Prize $150 Caltex Voucher & 4th Prize Maggie
Beer Luxury Hamper. The raffle will be drawn at the

BMCC Seniors Week Recognition Awards
Paul Best, who had just retired as the Coordinator of the
Mid Mountains Volunteer Home Visitors Program, and
Kate Litchfield, a Volunteer Home Visitor with over 13
years of service with the program, both received
Recognition Awards to acknowledge the invaluable
contribution Paul and Kate have made to the Blue
Mountains Community.

PAFFS Grief Support Group
The loss of a child at any age and from any cause. PAFFS is
a support group for parents & any family members, to
share experiences and feelings with other families living
with the pain and heartache. 4th Saturday of each month

IDAHOT 2015 international day against homophobia &
transphobia. Sunday 17 May 11am at Civic Place BMCC
Katoomba for the Rainbow flag raising event. Then march
to Carrington Place, in front of the Carrington Hotel, for
speeches, music, food and celebrations. Wet weather
venue for the Carrington Place event is the Katoomba
Community Hall, Katoomba St Katoomba.

Carer Peer Support Group
Community Café weekly Morning Tea
If you are a carer for a friend or family member who is
elderly or living in the community with a disability or
mental illness why not come along to one of our friendly
meetings, meet other carers in similar situations, support
others and be supported? Carer Peer Support meets at
the Neighbourhood Centre 1.30 - 3.30pm second
Wednesday of each month. New members welcome.
