Solo Dock Launches New Program to Donate to Local Lake Associations
Solo Dock Tip-In Docks Purchased
By Entrepreneur and Lakeshore Owner
Orono, Minn., March 23, 2015 -- Solo Dock has launched a new program to support local lake communities. The
aluminum tip-in dock manufacturer will make a $100 donation to each new customer’s lake association for new
docks purchased by June 1, 2015.
“Our mission is to help lakeshore owners enjoy their time at the lake. Local lake associations can use the money
to stock their lakes with fish, fund their annual picnic, and prevent or control invasive species,” says John Gehring,
owner of Solo Dock in Orono, Minnesota.
Gehring recently purchased the Solo Dock product line from the engineers that developed the dock system. The
easy-to-install docks are now available from an entrepreneur and long-time lakeshore owner.
Solo Dock is an all-aluminum, tip-in dock that can be installed by one person without getting into the water. The
one-piece dock section design means decking won’t float away when the water rises, and the 4’ x 6’sections stack
neatly in a small space on shore.
It’s obvious that the Solo Dock was designed by engineers who were also lakeshore owners. A full-width
extrusion on each end of the dock section forms a hinge that secures the sections together without tools. Leg
locks tighten around the aluminum dock posts, replacing old-fashioned set screws. The leg locks are integrated
into the section and set-in from the edge of the dock to prevent damage to boats.
“Customers tell us that installing and removing other docks is a hassle,” says Gehring. “They either need to get
family, friends or neighbors together, or deal with the expense and busy schedules of an installer.”
“Lakehome, cabin and cottage owners like Solo Dock because they can install and remove this dock by
themselves or with one other person, when they are ready, and they don’t have to get into the cold, deep
water,” Gehring says.
Lakeshore owners can call Solo Dock to purchase a dock, or to be referred to a local dealer. The company is
actively building a new dealer network to provide a high level of local service to Solo Dock customers.
