This year the Annual Visual Art and Creative Writing Exhibition will be
held at Ramsbottom Library and Adult Learning Centre, Carr Street, Ramsbottom BL0 9AE.
The exhibition is a celebration of learners’ work over the past academic year in
all areas of our visual arts curriculum.
There will be examples of Photography, Textiles, Flowers, Stained Glass, Art,
Dressmaking, Patchwork & Quilting, Soft furnishings ,Pottery and Creative
Writing. There will be an opportunity to buy some of the featured pieces of
work at reasonable prices. Learners will be able to exhibit their chosen piece of
work by handing it in to their tutor no later than 2nd June. Please make sure
that your work is securely labelled with your name, contact details and the
price (if you wish to sell the item) as well as short description of the piece or
the inspiration behind the work (a proforma will be available from your tutor if
you wish to use it). A small donation from the sale of each piece of work will
go to Ramsbottom Library. Photographs of all pieces of featured work will be
shown on our Moodle website along with past years work
(www.moodle.bury.gov.uk).
During the opening of the Annual Visual Art Exhibition on Saturday 20th June at 11.00am cheque will be presented to
Pauline Cunliffe on in memory of one of our much respected
art tutors, Paul Cunliffe, who sadly passed away in December
2014. This donation will go to the family’s chosen charity—
the Diabetes Trust. We are also commissioning a commemorative piece of stained glass to be made by one of our tutors,
Sam Finning, which will be unveiled during the exhibition.
This piece is inspired by one of Paul’s favourite artists, Antoni Gaudi. It
will initially hang at Ramsbottom Library and will then transfer to be displayed in all Centres in turn so that it can be enjoyed by all learners.
Would you like to enhance your learning?
There are plenty of clubs / societies in the area which you may be interested in joining. There are also galleries to visit to view pieces of art
