As well as shows, clinics and talks from experts, we have also provided financial support for local and national charities; Spinal Research, Kent Air Ambulance, St.John Ambulance and BHS work to improve Local Access. We have a small committee who work with members to decide each season’s programme and ensure that all our events run smoothly. Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December each year. We have two categories of membership, Single and Family (for those with children still in full-time education). Shield awarded to members only. 14 6 Venue Horlands Farm - Open Shows Our 2015 Open shows will be held at the new venue of Horlands Farm, courtesy of Mr Richard Russell. The committee and members are extremely grateful for his generous offer of support. Please note one way system for vehicles entering/exiting the showground. Please enter the show ground from Summerhill Road (via Staplehurst Road) turning RIGHT into the field. Please exit the show ground onto Battle Lane (via Maidstone Road) turning RIGHT as you exit the field. Facilities We have onsite catering, toilet facilities and ample space for parking. Please bring your own water. 15 7 Show rules for open events and members only events 1 The organisers reserve the right to alter the schedule or prizes in any way they consider appropriate. 2 The organisers reserve the right to limit competitor numbers in classes. 3 The judge’s decision is final. 4 No entry will be accepted without the appropriate fee. Failure to exhibit any animal entered will entail forfeiture of any fee unless a medical or veterinary certificate is produced. 5 Any objections must be handed to the Show/Event Secretary within one hour of the incident with a deposit of £10. The deposit will be returned if the objection is upheld, or forfeited if the committee decides that the objection is not substantiated. In the event of any dispute or other matter not covered by these show rules the committee shall act in any manner they deem appropriate and their decision shall be binding and final. 6 The organisers accept no responsibility whatsoever for anything that occurs to competitors, their property, horses or servants. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from such an incident. 7 No horse or pony may be entered twice in the same class with the same rider. 8 Correct dress must be worn by all competitors. 9 Hard hats must be worn and fastened at all times when mounted on the show ground and body protectors worn when required (see mini one-day event & cross country clinic). 10 No dogs are allowed at the Saddlers venue. At all other venues all dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. 11 Any person acting in a manner likely to cause an accident or offence or contrary to any of the rules of the show/event will be asked to leave the venue. Ill-treatment of any animal at a venue will not be tolerated. 12 No horse or pony is to be left unattended when tied to the outside of a lorry or trailer. 13 At the Pony Picnic, all riders must be accompanied by an adult at all times when mounted or leading. 14 At In-Hand only shows, no riding is permitted on the showground at any time. 15 No cantering or galloping on the show ground/venue other than in the warm-up area and show rings. 16 The Association recommends that all equines attending our events are fully vaccinated against Equine (spurious) Influenza and tetanus. 16 17 The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, all the officials and stewards at all times. 18 In all classes, the committee reserve to themselves the right of rejection of the entry of any person and also the right of withholding any prize or prizes awarded. Competitors not displaying their correct number may be liable to disqualification. All entry forms must be accurately completed and signed by the exhibitor or his agent. Any exhibitor omitting to give information asked for on the entry form will be liable to have his entry disqualified. All entries made in a wrong class will be disqualified and the entry fee is liable to forfeiture. 19 All children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. 20 All stallions over two years old must be bitted and have two handlers at all times. 21 In the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, the £4 First Aid donation per person will be retained along with £2 per class entered (to cover administration costs). 22 Any rider, who falls off during a class/event, may not remount in the ring, and must be assessed by our elected first aid provider as being able to continue before they can enter further classes.
