This program, patterned after the Teacher of the Year Awards Program, is an excellent opportunity to acknowledge those students who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement, leadership ability and citizenship. The Students of the Year Awards Program is sponsored by the Louisiana State Superintendent through the State Department of Education and the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. The funding for the scholarship awards have been donated through an Act of donation by the High School Scholarship Association, Inc., the Jewish Endowment Foundation of Louisiana to support scholarships for the Orleans Parish School Board Scholars and Donation from the Marie Atchley Estate.
