On Monday March 30th PHMS Hosted the 8th Grade College/Career Day:
A variety of guest speakers talked with students about their careers. Students were
able to choose the presentations that they were interested in learning about. We
then had Dan Delaney, a guest speaker from Camden County Community College,
Elisa Di Lolle, the Director of Guidance for Pine Hill Schools, Raheem Covington,
8th Grade teacher and Renata Bass talked about the college experience. Lastly,
student guests from Rowan University entertained the students. The fraternity and
sorority members performed step routines as well as strolling and saluting. The
students especially enjoyed the informal conversation they had with the university
students after the show!

Ms. Gallagher would like to give a “Shout Out” to all students that participated in the “Role Model Program”:
Ms. Gallagher started a brand new project at the Glenn School
this year!! She arranged for role model students from 4th and 5th grade
general education classes to work with our special needs students in our
multiply disabled classroom. 10 wonderful students were nominated by
their 4th and 5th grade teachers to participate. Our goal was to help our
multiply disabled students enhance their social skills. Our program started in early December, and will end in early May. Some of the concepts
covered and activities included: appropriate meeting and greeting, problem solving, conversing with a friend, Christmas card creation and exchange, working well with a partner, and designing beautiful spring art
projects. All of the students who participated cultivated wonderful new
friendships, lasting social skills, and a positive experience----- all while
having fun!!!!
