Congratulations to the Active Travel team for planning and
implementing such a wonderful Ride2School event last
Friday. It was a successful and enjoyable event and fabulous
to have so many students, teachers and parents actively
travelling to school. Teachers and parents will be at all 3D
walks tomorrow at 8.30am and will begin walking to school
at 8.40am.
Storytime will be conducted for pre school children
tomorrow from 9am in the library; the theme is Easter. The
Library Team and I look forward to a happy and engaging
session.
On Saturday, March 21, both the junior and senior choirs
will perform at the Warrandyte Festival at 1.45pm on the
stage at Stiggants Reserve. Thank you to Mrs Hunt and Mrs
Bowen for their work in preparing the students for this
performance. Ms Weatherburn will take place in the parade
representing our school with the Warrandyte Community
Bank.
STAFF NEWS
PRINCIPAL’S LETTER
Mrs Hunt will be on leave from tomorrow and will return on
May 5. The music program will be not operate while Mrs
Hunt is on leave.
STUDENT LEARNING
COMMUNITY
Next week the specialist program will be suspended and all
teachers, class and specialists will work with their teams to
evaluate the learning program for term one and plan the
program for term two. The teachers look at their students’
achievements and use this information to plan the next
level of learning activities in conjunction with the
prescribed curriculum. I believe this is very important in
supporting the continuous improvement of learning
programs.
Congratulations to the PA Fundraising Team led by Mrs
Honan and Mrs Albers for the Welcome Back Picnic last
Friday. It was a delightful evening and I enjoyed chatting
with parents and students in such a relaxed and enjoyable
atmosphere. I especially enjoyed watching the children
participating in the activities and catching up with their
friends so joyfully. I was also pleased to see some of our
senior students leading activities and would like to see this
become an annual event at the beginning of each year.
On Monday April 13 we will hold a Curriculum Day;
students do not attend school on this day and teachers are
involved in professional learning. The focus for the
Curriculum Day is the teaching of reading. Our literacy
Ballot papers for our School Council election were
distributed to all families on Monday this week. The ballot
closes at 4pm on Monday March 23.
