FROM THE DESK OF THE MAYOR
Wow! Well we did it, we built a
great historic brand new Municipal
Complex Building and we paid for it
with dirt and future land sales. We are enjoying
it’s rewards. And there are more to follow. The
New Jersey State Police has offered us a plan to
have a small portion of space for a NJSP computer
system and operate a regional sub-station from
our new facility. They will not be manning the
substation on a 24/7 schedule, but the presence of
trooper patrols might increase as they come to the
sub-station to complete paperwork and report on
their special computer. As Comcast needed to renew their franchise agreement in Port we were
able to negotiate a ten thousand dollar grant for
technical purposes. We will use part of this grant
award to finace the NJSP computer and hookups
and a lockable storage case to contain the special
computer and its connecting equipment. I look
forward to a renewed relationship with troopers
who’s response times will be drastically reduced.
God loves us.
May God continue to Bless us!

A Guide to Healthy Habits for Cleaner Water
Pollution on streets, parking lots and
lawns is washed by rain into storm drains, then
directly to our drinking water supplies and the
ocean and lakes our children play in. Fertilizer,
oil, pesticides, detergents, pet waste, grass clippings: You name it and it ends up in our water.
Stormwater pollution is one of New Jersey’s greatest threats to clean and plentiful water, and that’s why we’re all doing something about it.
By sharing the responsibility and making small, easy changes in our
daily lives, we can keep common pollutants out of stormwater. It all adds
up to cleaner water, and it saves the high cost of cleaning up once it’s
dirty.
