Classes
Yoga's therapeutic benefits provide
cancer patients and survivors an
opportunity to gently stretch, build
strength and deeply relax in a
supportive environment. Specific
movements along with breath and
relaxation techniques help manage
stress and support the immune
system.
About the Instructors
Michelle Couture, E-RYT200, has
been teaching Vinyasa yoga since
2008. She created the first
specialized class (Yoga for Women
with Cancer) in this program and has
been teaching these classes weekly
since 2012.
Janis Sheldon, RYT500 Integrative
Yoga Therapy has been teaching a
gentle approach to yoga since 2006.
Janis will be teaching this class in
Portsmouth.
Meredith Delmage, RYT200, LICSW,
Oncology Social Worker at The
Center for Cancer Care at Exeter
Hospital. Meredith will be teaching
this class to cancer patients at Exeter
Hospital.
All teachers are Y4C certified (Yoga 4
Cancer) and funding for classes is
provided by SATYA.
Classes offered are free and suitable for all
patients newly diagnosed, in cancer treatment or
recovery. Feel free to bring a friend or family
member for additional support. Newcomers to
yoga are welcome.
