Prophesy Again Pastor Andrew Henriques www.prophesyagain.com Time To Cross Jordan As Senator Suggests NSL, Pope Credited With Miracle, Declares Himself Lord Of The World 1. Let us read 1 Corinthians 10:6 and11 and discover that the journey of ancient Israel from Egypt to the earthly promised land of Canaan typifies the journey of God’s people from this sinful earth to the heavenly promised land, even the new earth. 2. What does Egypt represent? Exodus 20:2__________________________________________________________________________ 3. What held the Jews in bondage, according to Jesus, that is holding many in bondage in these last days? John 8:32-34_____________ 4. Note: The journey of ancient Israel from Egypt to Canaan is a type of the journey of God’s people from the bondage of sin to heaven. 5a. Before the ancient Israelites could enter the earthly promised land of Canaan, what did they have to cross? Joshua 1:1,2; Numbers 33:50,51______________________________________________________________________________________________ 5b. Note: Likewise, before we can enter the heavenly promised land, we have to cross the antitypical Jordan River. 6. The crossing of which other sea is similar to the crossing of the Jordan? Joshua 4:23________________________________________ 7a. What does the crossing of the Red Sea represent? 1 Corinthians 10:1,2__________________________________________________ 7b. What falls from the cloud? Zechariah 10:1__________________________________________________________________________ 7c. Note: The latter rain is a symbol of the Holy Spirit who seals us with the message of truth for the second coming of Jesus. 8. Since the crossing of the Red Sea represents the baptism under the cloud (the baptism of the Holy Spirit) and in the water, the crossing of the Jordan represents also this two-fold baptism (the baptism by water and by the Holy Spirit). 9. In order for ancient Israel to enter into Canaan, they had to be baptized. Likewise, we have to receive the two-fold baptism in order to enter heaven. 10a. Since they crossed the Red Sea, which represents baptism, why did they have to cross the Jordan and be baptized again? Answer: The Israelites had to recommit their lives to the Lord, since they all had sinned and broken God’s covenant. Likewise, many of us have to be rebaptized before we can enter into heaven. See the following statements regarding rebaptism. Acts 19:3-5. 10b. “There is still another lesson for us in the experience of those Jewish converts. When they received baptism at the hand of John they did not fully comprehend the mission of Jesus as the Sin Bearer. They were holding serious errors. But with clearer light, they gladly accepted Christ as their Redeemer, and with this step of advance came a change in their obligations. As they received a purer faith, there was a corresponding change in their life. In token of this change, and as an acknowledgment of their faith in Christ, they were rebaptized in the name of Jesus.” {AA 285.1} 10c. “The honest seeker after truth will not plead ignorance of the law as an excuse for transgression. Light was within his reach. God's Word is plain, and Christ has bidden him search the Scriptures. He reveres God's law as holy, just, and good, and he repents of his transgression. By faith he pleads the atoning blood of Christ, and grasps the promise of pardon. His former baptism does not satisfy him now. He has seen himself a sinner, condemned by the law of God. He has experienced anew a death to sin, and he desires again to be buried with Christ by baptism, that he may rise to walk in newness of life. Such a course is in harmony with the example of Paul in baptizing the Jewish converts. That incident was recorded by the Holy Spirit as an instructive lesson for the church.” {Ev 372.2} 10d. “The Lord calls for a decided reformation. And when a soul is truly reconverted, let him be rebaptized. Let him renew his covenant with God, and God will renew His covenant with him. . . . Reconversion must take place among the members, that as God's witnesses they may testify to the authoritative power of the truth that sanctifies the soul.” {Ev 375.2} 11. Note: Secondly, all those who crossed the Red Sea, 20 years old and above, died in the wilderness and did not cross the Jordan, except for Joshua and Caleb. The children who crossed the Red Sea grew up in the wilderness for 40 years; they had to be baptized before entering Canaan. Our children (youth) have to receive the two-fold baptism in order to enter heaven. 12. What is the Lord saying to us? John 3:3,5__________________________________________________________________________ 13a. Before Israel could cross the Jordan, which represents baptism, what did the Lord tell them through Joshua? Joshua 3:1,3,5 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 13b. What is the covenant that we must follow? Deuteronomy 4:13__________________________________________________________ 13c. Note: Likewise, before we are baptized we must be sanctified and choose to obey God’s Ten Commandments. 13d. What does the Lord say to us regarding sanctification? John 17:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:23,24_________________________________ 14a. Who did the Lord have to find and what instruction did He give them, before Israel could cross the Jordan into Canaan? Joshua 3:8,13,17______________________________________________________________________________________________ 14b. Note: The application is this, the Lord is seeking for faithful ministers who are upholding His law. The Lord will use them to baptize the people into the true experience, so that they can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and enter into heaven. 15. Who did the priests, who stood in the Jordan so that Israel could cross over into Canaan, represent during Jesus’ first advent? Answer: Those priests in the days of Joshua did not represent the ministers of the synagogues in Jerusalem during Jesus’ first advent; they represented John the Baptist, a self-supporting preacher, who was not connected to the Sanhredin Council. 16. Where was John the Baptist baptizing? What was the effect of his ministry? Matthew 3:1-3,5,6,11______________________________ 17. What message did John the Baptist emphasize, as a result people came to be baptized? Matthew 3:1,2_________________________ 18a. Answer: It is the call for the enforcement of Sunday Observance. 18b. “Yet this very class put forth the claim that the fast-spreading corruption is largely attributable to the desecration of the so-called ‘Christian sabbath,’ and that the enforcement of Sunday observance would greatly improve the morals of society.” {GC 587.1} 18c. “Arizona State Senator Proposes A Bill For Mandatory Church Attendance On Sunday” https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=BGvctqvDsag&sns=fb 18d. “Heretofore those who presented the truths of the third angel's message have often been regarded as mere alarmists. Their predictions that religious intolerance would gain control in the United States, that church and state would unite to persecute those who keep the commandments of God, have been pronounced groundless and absurd. It has been confidently declared that this land could never become other than what it has been--the defender of religious freedom. But as the question of enforcing Sunday observance is widely agitated, the event so long doubted and disbelieved is seen to be approaching, and the third message will produce an effect which it could not have had before.” {GC 605.3} Consider the following news articles and discover the fact that the idea of enforcing Sunday observance is being widely considered. 18e. http://www.backtochurch.com/about/press_release/3-3-million-people-agree-its-time-to-get-back-to-church 18f. http://www.backtochurch.com/about/press_release/ survey_majority_of_americans_say_nation_would_be_better_if_more_americans_w 18g. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/04/22/let-make-sunday-day-rest-for-gods-sake/ 18h. http://www.catholicsun.org/2012/06/06/sundays-must-be-a-day-of-rest-dedicated-to-god-family-pope-says/ 18i. http://www.worldmeeting2015.org/papal-visit/ 18j. “Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet's words...Revelation 12:17. {GC 592} 18k. “Pope Francis: Read Robert Hugh Benson’s Lord of the World to understand me” http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/pope-francis-read-robert-hugh-bensons-lord-of-the-world-to-understand-me/storyfnb64oi6-1227201899230?nk=13057e8e9573f3b2fa8f1ee13a0b4f40 18l. “In an appeal to the emperor and nobility of Germany in behalf of the reformation of Christianity, Luther wrote concerning the pope: ‘It is a horrible thing to behold the man who styles himself Christ's vicegerent, displaying a magnificence that no emperor can equal. Is this being like the poor Jesus, or the humble Peter? He is, say they, the lord of the world! But Christ, whose vicar he boasts of being, has said, 'My kingdom is not of this world.' Can the dominions of a vicar extend beyond those of his superior?" {GC 140.4} 18m. “Pope Francis: I feel like my papacy will last only four or five years” http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2015/03/13/popefrancis-on-st-peters-balcony-i-did-not-know-what-to-say/ 18n. “Pope Francis Credited With Performing 'Miracle' As St. Gennaro's Blood Liquifies” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ 2015/03/22/pope-francis-miracle_n_6920624.html 18o. “Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium.” {GC 588.3} 18p. Since the close of probation is near, it is time for us to surrender all to Jesus and receive the baptism of water and the Holy Spirit. 19. What encouragement, what promise did Joshua give, once the Israelites crossed the Jordan? Joshua 3:8-11 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 20. Once we surrender and choose to be baptized, our victory over sin from this day forward is secured, because Jesus crossed over Jordan and was baptized; He got the victory over Satan. If we just abide in Jesus, our victory of sin is sure. See Matthew 3:13-17; Matthew 4:1-4,11. 21. What did the Lord instruct the leaders to pick up and carry out of the Jordan into Canaan? As Jacob crossed the Jordan, who was approaching to kill him? Genesis 32:11_____________________________________________ 28. What does this crisis of Esau attempting to destroy Jacob represent for God’s people in these last days?________________________ “As Satan influenced Esau to march against Jacob, so he will stir up the wicked to destroy God's people in the time of trouble. And as he accused Jacob, he will urge his accusations against the people of God. He numbers the world as his subjects; but the little company who keep the commandments of God are resisting his supremacy. If he could blot them from the earth, his triumph would be complete.” {GC 618.2} 29. As a result of the coming crisis, what did Jacob do once he crossed the Jordan? What did he experience? Genesis 32:24-30 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 30a.
