Anointing of the Sick
We celebrate the Sacrament of the Sick after the 4 pm Mass on
the second Saturday of the month in the front of the church.
Our next anointing will be Saturday, May 9th. We ask those to
be anointed to sit in the front pews, and invite anyone at the 4 pm
Mass to join in this special time of prayer.

Congratulations on reaching your 2015 Catholic Appeal goal
at St. Mary Parish.
The Catholic Appeal is the primary means through which we
sustain essential ministries that build up our community and
encourage all of our people to live together in faith. Thank you
for your support of this important effort.
The generosity of your parishioners is a sign of their recognition and appreciation of your pastoral leadership. I am truly
grateful for their commitment and support of the work of

175th Anniversary Celebration
A committee meeting for the 175th Anniversary is scheduled for Monday, May 4th at 7 pm in St. Mary Parish hall. All
volunteers are asked to attend as we confirm final plans. New
volunteers always are welcome!
The anniversary celebration is scheduled for Saturday,
Oct. 17th. Cardinal O’Malley will celebrate the Mass. Following
Mass, a dinner reception will take place in the parish hall. A sit
down dinner will consist of pasta in red sauce with meatballs
and sausages, boneless stuffed chicken breast, potato, vegetable,
salad, rolls and Italian pastries.
Tickets are $30 per person. Tickets will be available in July.
Only 400 tickets will be sold!
CHRISM Bible Study Course: Celia Sirois continues a 5-part
Easter series on “The Birth of the Church,” on 5 consecutive
Thursdays beginning on Thursday mornings from 10 am to 12
noon at Sacred Heart. This course will revisit the beginning of
the Church in the Pentecost event. It will trace the growth and
development of the early Church from Jerusalem to Antioch
and to the ends of the earth. The suggested donation for all
CHRISM courses is $5/session. Pre-registration is not required.

Holy Hour: Please join in prayer at
St Mary Church on this Tuesday,
April 28th at 7pm for our monthly
Holy Hour. Come join us for an hour
of peace! We will be praying for family values and those struggling with addiction. The Holy Hour
will include Adoration, Rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Music, Silent Prayer and Benediction.
Our next Collaborative Bring a Friend Dinner & Movie night
will be on Saturday May 2nd in the lower church hall at St. Ann
Parish. We will be showing “Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont.”
Cheese and crackers at 5:00 pm, followed by an Italian dinner
from Gennaro’s at 5:30 pm. Please contact Meg Venuti at Saint
Ann before Monday April 27th to reserve your seat. This event
is for 21 and over only.
Religious Education: First Communion Rehearsals will be
Thurs. May 7th & May 8th for Saint Mary. The rehearsal will be
at 4pm in the church hall and church and last for 1 hour. If you
are unable to attend please call the Religious Ed. Office.
Thank you for recycling your ink cartridges. Please keep on
sending them in!! We use the credits for office supplies for
Religious Education. You can place them in the box located in
the Bell Tower Room.
Congratulations to Michelle Andrews! Michelle is the recipient
of the Elizabeth Ann Seaton award from the Office of Faith
formation of Youth and Young Adults. Michelle has been a
catechist for over 10 years at Saint Mary. She has also been a
dedicated teacher and librarian for the Quincy schools, and
a scout leader ( girls and boys). We are pleased and proud of
Michelle and thank her for all she does for young people of
Quincy, God Bless You Michelle!
Collaborative Confirmation Date: Sun., May 3rd at 1pm
at St. Mary Church; Rehearsal: Thurs. April 30th at 6:30pm for
candidates and their sponsors at St. Mary Church.
Pizza and Prayer: Open to all high school students, Wednesday
nights from 6 pm to 7:30 pm in Saint Ann lower chapel. Come
and bring a friend and meet some new friends while hanging out
and eating free pizza.
May Procession & Crowning in Honor of the Blessed Mother
is scheduled for Sunday, May 17th at 3pm in Saint Ann Church
The procession will begin in church, then process outside to
the fountain on Hancock Street to crown the Blessed Mother.
Following the Crowning, light refreshments will be served at
St. Ann Parish Hall.

Our Father Joe has created a collection
of poetry available for a free will offering not less than five
dollars, the proceeds for which will benefit the upcoming
travel expenses for young adults to participate in Pro-Life activities such as the March for Life. Drop in at your parish office
to obtain a copy of his seminal work: “Poetry on the Nature
of Life.”

Our annual Fun Run will take place on Friday, May 22.
April Vacation: QCA will be closed during April vacation,
April 20-24. Wishing everyone a safe, refreshing week off!
Summer Program: QCA will run a summer program again this
summer for children from preschool to Grade 5. The program
will run eight weeks from June 22 through August 14 (Monday
through Friday from 7:30 am to 5 pm. This program will include
assorted educational classes, exciting physical activities, and
some time for fun free play (both indoor and outdoor).
Registration/Open House: Applications for the 2015-2016
school year are now being accepted. We welcome any prospective
parent to come visit QCA and take a tour every first Wednesday of the month; next open house will be Wednesday, May 6,

Our next Atlantic City trip is scheduled for Sept. 1-3 to see the
air show, “Double Thunder” presented by Blue Thunder & the
Blue Angels. The trip is 2 nights/3 days, Tues.-Thurs. Pick-up/
Return is from St. Mary Parish parking lot. The Atlantic City
air show returns to the beach and boardwalk. You don’t want to
miss this year’s combination of, “Thunder over the Boardwalk
and the Blue Angels!” The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the
Golden Knights Parachute team will be participating. The Blue
Angels will be performing today for the first time along with
the Thunderbirds. Our hotel will be the Tropicana. The trip
will includes: Bus, 2 nights accommodations, Casino Bonus: 2
Buffet Coupons & $30.00 slot play (Bonus subject to change by
casino)and the air show, weather permitting. Cost is $249.00 per
person/double occupancy, or $369.00/single. Only 80 seats are
available. Contact Fr. Lou or Arlene at Sacred Heart rectory for
information. Full payment is due at registration. Registration
ends on August 1st. Insurance is available for $29.00 with full
payment and is for medical reason.

ask that you test out the translator and see if it would valuable to include it globally on our entire collaborative website. We have added some of the primary languages of our
parishioners. Are we missing any that should be included?

• Digital photographers needed! We would like to increase
our library of parish photos for the website. We have scheduled one hour from 12 noon to 1pm at each church and invite
you to bring your digital cameras and document our church
buildings, statues, windows, etc. The dates are: May 17th at
St. Mary, May 24th at Sacred Heart, May 31st at St. Ann.
Collaborative Craft Fair, Nov 7th! Are you interested in having
a table at our First Collaborative Craft Fair?
Tables are $30 for one and $50 for two. If

Children’s Choir Fest 2015: Now in it’s 9th year and now collaboratively, we offer a week-long summer program of fun, singing, and learning about our Catholic worship through times of
prayer, activities, games, crafts and videos. Our week ends with
a musical presentation open to everyone, followed by a make
your own sundae party. Last year’s ChoirFest days were such
a success, that we’re sure reservations will be filled up quickly.
