2015 Sponsorship Package Dear Potential Partner, We would like to ask for your consideration in becoming a sponsor of our upcoming Quack Attack on Poverty 5k run/walk benefiting Community Food & Outreach Center. On Saturday, September 26, our organization will host a one-ofa-kind event in Orlando with the goal of raising both funds and awareness for our mission. We need your help to ensure our efforts are a success! Please take a moment to read the sponsorship opportunities outlined in this booklet to learn how your organization can participate in supporting this unique and fun event. Thank you in advance for your consideration! Through the generosity of organizations like yours, Community Food & Outreach Center will continue providing education, food and hope in Central Florida. Our Purpose: To inspire and empower people living in poverty to lift themselves and their families to economic self-sufficiency. Some traditional models create a cycle of dependency. With good intentions, many organizations address the symptoms of poverty by providing something for nothing. Handouts may help people get by, but they are not truly effective long-term and oftentimes strip people of their dignity instead of lifting and encouraging them. Our approach has an exit strategy. At Community Food & Outreach Center, we are focused on determining the deeper, underlying issues so that the most effective services and resources can be offered. Our programs are designed to inspire and empower people living in poverty to lift themselves and their families to economic self-sufficiency. About Community Food & Outreach Center Race Information • Date: Saturday, September 26, 2015 • Location: Harbor Park at Lake Baldwin 4990 New Broad Street, Orlando, FL 32814 • Race Start: 7:30 a.m. • Course is certified by USA Track & Field • Professional race timing services by Fleet Feet Orlando • 500 participants expected Concept: The Quack Attack on Poverty 5k is an opportunity for community members to come together and make a meaningful impact while participating in an unforgettable 5k. Targeted towards individuals and families who enjoy unique run/walks, participants complete the 3.1 mile course while wearing an inflatable duck-shaped pool float around their waist. The course features interactive bubble and squirt gun zones, as well as a quack zone where spectators are given duck quackers to cheer on the runners. All funds raised through registration, participant fundraising and sponsorships benefit Community Food & Outreach Center. Why Quack Attack? Each day at our Orlando campus, Community Food & Outreach Center staff and volunteers work hard to tackle the issue of poverty at its core and create sustainable, community-driven change. While we work with our clients to fight these battles of hunger, homelessness and poverty each day, we know that there is nothing fun about these issues. The harsh reality is that half of Central Floridians are one financial shock away from the poverty line. Instead of focusing on dire statistics like these, we want to dedicate our 5k event to being unique, fun and different in order to attract the support of participants who can make an impact in our community.
