Learn to Quilt as you make a cute baby or lap quilt, called Which Way is UP ?. We will cover all the basics: rotary cutting, piecing, placing, backing and bindings. Each month she will show you how to use a set of precuts to make a quilt, table or bag, the quick and easy way ,with little cutting needed ! Great for beginners. Find out how fast you can create when most of the cutting has already been done for you. Kathy will begin the club with the largest precuts available – Fat Quarters, then each month present an easy to finish project using a smaller pre-cut, such as layer cakes, dessert rolls, jelly rolls, charm squares, etc. The club meets twice a month. The first meeting will be to learn how quick it is to make up the patterns using your precuts, then at the second club meeting you learn how to assemble everything into a Boys Tool Box Quilt Learn how to create a row quilt using fabrics from co-ordinates, or fabrics from your stash. Spend some time with Margriet learning to uses rows instead of blocks to create unique and interesting quilts. You will make a lap quilt in class, and she will show you variations of this style of quilts. There is a girls version, too. FREE MOTION QUILTING YouPatch Pixel Quilting Presentation Stacey Morton will be doing a presentation on the YouPatch method of designing a pixel quilt pattern from a picture or photo. This method uses 2 ½ “ squares to form the quilt. Each quilt is a unique work of art! There will be 2 of her quilts on display, so you can see up close how these quilts are constructed. She will do a presentation on the process of how to develop the pattern especially from a photo. We offer individual instruction or small group lessons, max. 4 to a group, while learning to use the machine safely. The 3 session beginner classes teach the child to use the sewing machine correctly and how to operate all the stitches, while making 3 unique projects. Once this is completed they can attend any class for kids. Call the store to set up classes for a child you know, who would love to sew.
