Advert for the post of a Marketing Officer to the Economic Section of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Tokyo Salary level 7: Annual Basic’ Range starts from 4 669 308 + 13th cheque (=1 month salary) Negotiable Requirements:
Advance degree (University or Equivalent) in Economics,
International Trade. 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in
marketing / investment promotion field. Computer literacy
(extensive experience in MS Word, Excel, Power Point,
Outlook, Social media and Internet marketing). Proficiency in
both English and Japanese. (Written and Spoken).
Key responsibilities:
Monitor and research the Japanese market and identify
opportunities / market potential
Facilitate foreign direct investments from Japan to South Africa
Promote and further develop exports from South Africa to
Japan
Monitor trade policy between Japan and South Africa
Organize trade missions from and to South Africa
Facilitate and organize bilateral seminars
Manage budgets and monitor expenditure
General Office Administration, interpretation and translation
Report Writing
Personal attributes
/ competencies:
Sound knowledge of Japanese economy
Specific industry experience related to Green Economy, Energy
Efficiency and Waste Management
Good understanding of the challenges for emerging markets i.e
South Africa
Good project management and organizational skills
Good presentation skills and a track record in developing and
maintaining key customer relations
Ability to work in a multi-cultural & dynamic environment
(Embassy exposure will be an added advantage)
Analytical ability
Driving experience would be an added advantage
Willingness to travel and work extended hours
Benefits:

clearance certificate issued in South Africa. Other Foreign
applicants must be in possession of a valid residents permit
