The Salvation Army’s Appreciation Luncheon for the SAWA Ladies You do not want to miss this! May 14th 11:30 am Metro Atlanta Area Command 1000 Center Place Norcross, GA 30093 See more info in this newsletter After a long, cold, wet winter, it seems Spring has finally arrived!! How lovely to look out and see all the colorful blossoms on the trees! Spring always reminds me of new beginnings. March was a busy month for the SAWA. The Disaster Training was very well received with many members and several husbands participating. Several of us had the opportunity to visit Kroc Center, Fuqua Boys and Girls Club, Red Shield and the ARC all in one day. I strongly encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity the next time it is offered. I know you will feel good about all the many ways the Salvation Army serves in the Metro area. Our March meeting at Booth Towers was very popular with 29 in attendance on a rainy day. We had a most informative meeting about the facility and tours of two of the apartments. The Nominating Committee has come up with an outstanding slate of officers for you to consider. We will vote on this at the April meeting. April promises to be another busy month especially with our meeting on April 16th at the Command Center. We will be packing hygiene kits for “Veterans on the Move” and toiletry bags for “Project Homeless Connect”. Many hands will make the project fun. This is a great opportunity to invite your friends. So in this season of new beginnings, please know what a joy it is serving with you in this organization that touches so many lives. ~Millie Atkinson President, Metro Atlanta SAWA In Memory Executive Committee/Board Meeting Thursday, April 9th 10:00 am (note time change) at Metro Atlanta Area Command Center 1000 Center Place Norcross, GA 30093 We continue to pray for James Bicknell (husband of Judy Bicknell) who is gravely ill.
