In Memoriam Dr. Omar Pasalodos, a beloved, longtime member of the Baptist Health family, was a highly regarded physician leader, a dedicated philanthropist and a devoted husband and father. As an obstetrician-gynecologist and civic leader, Dr. Pasalodos dedicated his career to caring for his patients, promoting education and advocacy and contributing through volunteer leadership. He exemplified the best in medicine. Dr. Pasalodos was a member of the medical staff at Baptist Hospital. He served on the Medical Board and was chief of obstetrics and gynecology from 1992 to 1994. At the time of his death, Dr. Pasalodos was chief medical officer for Baptist Health’s International Division. Among his community and philanthropic work, he was chairman of Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine’s Dean’s Advisory Council. In addition, he served as a director of Doctors Hospital Foundation, the Baptist Health International Advisory Board, the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center, the Health Foundation of South Florida, the Miami Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the William A. Little Society of University of Miami Alumni. Dr. Pasalodos was widely honored for his community involvement. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the William A. Little Society, and in 2011, Miami Beach International Fashion Week presented him with its Humanitarian Award as one of Miami’s 10 most dedicated philanthropists.
