See page 15 and look for the Training Center symbol throughout this guide. 3 1 SET YOUR GOALS Before setting your goals, it’s important to think about why you joined Scentsy Family. Did you do it to help supplement your family income? Did you want an opportunity to socialize and sharpen your presentation skills? Or do you simply love the products and have a passion to share them with others? Once you understand your motivations, you can set goals that will help drive your own form of success. It All Starts With a Goal First, clearly define your primary goal and write it down. A written goal is proven to have a much higher rate of success. Your Primary Goal: Post your goal in your home office, on the bathroom mirror, or somewhere you can see it every day. Then figure out what it will take to get there. If it looks a little scary on paper, try breaking it up into smaller pieces; then get started with one manageable piece at a time. It’s easiest to first decide how many parties you may need to schedule to meet this initial goal. I will schedule parties per week to reach my goal. To get started, try at least 1-2 parties per week for the first 70 days. Tip: Mark a calendar with the days you can fit parties around family and/or other commitments — then you’ll always know when you’re available! Next, determine what other actions will help you reach your goal. Promote! As a brand-new Consultant, you earn a 20 percent commission on your Personal Retail Volume (PRV). As soon as you earn a cumulative total of 1,000 points in PRV, you will be promoted to Certified Consultant and begin earning a 25 percent commission — that’s a 5 percent raise you can earn right away! goals I will become a Certified Consultant by (date): 4 New Consultant Awards Are you ready to enjoy that 5 percent raise? Then make achieving our new Consultant awards one of your earliest goals. Earning these awards will help jump-start your business and put you on the fast-track to becoming a Certified Consultant. Shooting Star Award Earn this award by selling 500 points in Personal Retail Volume (PRV) in one brand during your first 15 days as a Consultant. You can accomplish this with just one or two successful parties! Your target date to qualify: 14 calendar days) (Your enrollment date plus When you achieve the Shooting Star Award, you’ll be eligible to purchase a Shooting Star Enhancement Kit,* which includes deeply discounted product you can use to create amazing party displays! You also earn PRV on the kit, which means that you’re paid commission when you purchase it. In addition to qualifying for the kit, you’ll receive a special Shooting Star charm and charm bracelet. During the qualification period, you can track your progress toward this award on either the home page or Performance tab of your Workstation. By focusing on booking parties and sharing the business opportunity, you’ll be well on your way to qualifying for this award — and also build a firm foundation for future success! There are three levels of the Scentsational Start Award; you will be awarded the highest level you achieve during your first 70 days as a Consultant. Day One is the day you enroll and order your Starter Kit. During the qualification period, you can track your progress toward this award on either the home page or Performance tab of your Workstation. You are eligible to achieve the Scentsational Start Award only once as a Scentsy Family Consultant, not once for each brand in which you enroll. If you are enrolled in multiple brands, Personal Retail Volume (PRV) and recruits are accumulated between all brands. Once you meet a goal, set a bigger one! 6 *The Product Credit for these awards is posted in your Workstation by the 10th of the month following the qualification date. Certificates, pins, and other items will be sent at the end of the month following the qualification period. 2 It’s Time to Party! Parties are at the heart of your business. At a party, you will sell products and show others that being a Consultant is something they can do, too! Parties are also a great place to schedule more parties that will keep your business running at full speed. To get your business off to a great start, begin planning your launch party today! Your Launch Party Your launch party is the grand opening of your business. It’s the perfect opportunity to gain your very first customers and Hosts so you can schedule more parties and continue to share the products and business opportunity. Because you’re the Consultant and the Host at your launch party, you earn the Host Rewards! (For more information on Host Rewards, see page 12). And once you breeze through your launch party, you’ll realize how easy it is to translate your love of the products into a fabulous party experience for your future Hosts and their guests. Here’s a checklist that can help you get started: Before Your Launch Party ■Choose a date for the party. We recommend hosting your launch party within 10 days of becoming a Consultant. ■Set up your party on the Workstation, under the Orders tab. When you do this, your party becomes visible on your Personal Website (PWS). (For more on how to use the Workstation, see page 13.) ■Create a guest list using your “List of 100.” (Learn how on page 8.) ■Invite guests using postcards, or by phone, email, Facebook, etc. Be sure to over-invite — generally, one out of three guests will actually attend. ■Create a display using items from your Starter Kit. ■Label catalogs and other business materials with your contact information. (Templates for personalized labels are available in the Resources tab of your Workstation.) Your Starter Kit contains catalogs, invitations, and order forms; each item becomes more valuable when labeled with your contact information. ■Prepare Host Packets to give out to future Hosts. (For more information, see page 10.) ■Prepare a short presentation and practice it. party ■Bring pens, order forms, and a calendar marked with your availability — so you can book new parties at a glance! 7 During Your Launch Party ■ Relax and be yourself. ■Tell everyone why you love the products! ■Explain Host Rewards to help book more parties. (For more tips on how to book parties, see page 10.) ■Ask everyone you speak with if they are interested in hosting a party and earning Host Rewards of their own. ■Show others how fun and easy it is to be a Consultant, and share more about the opportunity with any guests who show an interest. After Your Launch Party ■Call guests who couldn’t attend to see if they’d like to place an order before you close the party — they can even shop on your PWS. ■Close your party and enter party orders on your Workstation. For help entering orders, work with your Sponsor or visit the Training Center. ■ Label products with your contact information and deliver orders. isit the Training Center for more launch party tips and instructions on how to enter your V first order! Build Your Contact List It’s amazing how many people you actually know! Use the “List of 100” on the next page to start building a list of contacts you can use to create your launch party guest list. Write down all the names that come to mind in the following categories: • Friends and family • Your co-workers • Your spouse’s friends and family • Your spouse’s co-workers • School friends (yours and/or your child’s) • Someone who travels • Teachers • Someone who wants extra income • Someone who loves fragrance, food, or fashion • Social media friends near and far (friends who don’t live in your area can still shop your party online!) • Contacts you know through your children • Neighbors and acquaintances • Church or community contacts If you don’t get to 100 names right away, don’t worry! Continually add to your list, and keep in touch with those listed. And every party, including your launch party, is a great place to generate more bookings. Here are a few tips that will help you fill your calendar in no time. • Talk about Host Rewards. As a Consultant, Host Rewards are one of the most powerful tools you have when encouraging someone to book a party: Once they’ve seen and fallen in love with the products, all that’s left is to tell them how they can get theirs free! (For more information on Host Rewards, see page 12.) • Share party options. There’s a party type for every Host and every location — from living rooms to cyberspace! (For more information on party options, see page 11.) • Have Host Packets ready. These will help your Host be ready for the party. (For more information on Host Packets, see below.) • Know your open dates. Always have your calendar on hand and be prepared to schedule a party whenever and wherever you are. • Offer your next available date. This keeps the excitement high, and there’s no rule that says you need two weeks to prepare for a party! Most people know on Thursday if they are available the following Tuesday. • Get referrals. Ask everyone for referrals. Even if someone isn’t interested in hosting a party, they probably know someone who is. • Overbook! Always schedule more parties than you think you need to reach your monthly income goals. Visit the Training Center for more party tips! Host Packets Before the party, give your Host a packet of information to help them prepare. Include: ■Catalogs ■Order forms ■Hosting brochures ■Postcard invitations ■Your business cards You’ll find each of these items in your Starter Kit. If you run out of any of these business supplies, you can reorder them by placing a Scentsy Family Store order from the Orders tab in your Workstation. 10 Party Styles There isn’t just one way to party! When it comes to experiencing our products, you and your Host can work together to choose the perfect party style. And no matter which style your Host prefers, Host Rewards work the same — they’ll get free and half-price products with each qualifying party. Home Party With a home party, your Host will provide the location, invite friends and family, and supply simple refreshments. Then you’ll share the products and business opportunity, interest others in hosting a party, and show everyone how much fun you get to have as a Consultant! Open House Party For an open house, your Host will invite guests to drop by at their convenience during a twoto three-hour window. You won’t give one big presentation, but instead give several “mini” presentations. Guests can browse products and mingle at their leisure. Basket Party (Scentsy Fragrance only) While it may not offer the full social experience of a home party, a Scentsy Fragrance basket party is the perfect alternative for guests-on-the-go. Provide your Host with a beautiful display basket full of product samples, order forms, and all the information they’ll need, to share with as many people as they like. After 10-14 days, collect the basket and completed order forms and enter the orders into your Workstation! Adding Outside Orders to a Party Encourage your Hosts to maximize their Host Rewards by collecting orders from guests who can’t attend their party. Guests can also join a party on your Personal Website (PWS) and place their orders there. You can find party games and other helpful party tools in the Resources tab on your Workstation. 11 Host Rewards Your Hosts will do almost all of the prospecting for you, and deserve to be rewarded generously. With our Host Rewards, they have the chance to earn free products and half-price items for their own shopping!* Host Rewards are one of the main reasons why people choose to host a party, which makes them one of the most powerful tools you have to grow your business. Here are some of the key details you need to know: • The product or discounts awarded to the Host are paid for by Scentsy Family. Discounts and free product will not come out of your commission. • Host Rewards do not count toward Personal Retail Volume (PRV). • To earn Host Rewards, your Host must throw a qualifying party of at least $150 in sales, excluding tax, shipping, and handling. • There is a Host Reward fee of $5 charged to the Consultant if all of the half-price items earned at a party are not redeemed. If your Host doesn’t use them all, take advantage of the discounts yourself! The chart below details the benefits a Host can earn through the Host Rewards program. Any orders collected before you close the party still count toward their Host Rewards! Perpetual Party Reward A Host can continue to earn rewards even after their party: If one of their guests signs up to host a party, your Host will receive an additional half-price item when they attend that party! We call it the Perpetual Party Reward, and it’s a great way to motivate your Host to help you book parties. 12 *Certain states require Scentsy Family to charge sales tax on the full retail price of half-price items. Tax requirements by state can change on a monthly basis. Contact salestax@scentsy.com for more information on proper sales tax calculation in your state. 12 3 Explore Consultant Tools The Scentsy Family offers a variety of tools to help you run your business and keep it growing! Keep reading to learn more about the Workstation and Training Center, your Personal Website (PWS), Scentsy Family Store, and brand-specific tools. Your Workstation One of your most important business tools is the Workstation. You’ll use it to place and track orders, set up parties, track your sales and income, get information on news and events, manage your customers and contacts, and more! To log in to your Workstation: 1. Go to workstation.scentsy.us. 2. Enter your Consultant ID number and the password you selected during the enrollment process. 3. Once you are logged in, you can toggle between different Scentsy Family brands (if enrolled in multiple brands) and available languages by clicking Select Brand/Country/Language in the upper-right corner of the home page. tools 13 Navigating the Workstation The information in your Workstation is organized into various categories, which appear as tabs that run across the top of the page. Here’s a quick look at what you’ll find. Home Tab The Home tab takes you to your home page, which hosts personal and team information, order history, incentive trackers, and breaking news. News Tab The News tab provides up-to-date product and company news along with breaking announcements. We recommend you check it daily to stay informed on the things that matter most to your business! Account Tab The Account tab lets you view and edit your profile and personal information, sign up for other Scentsy Family brands, and manage any optional monthly subscriptions. You can also access and edit your Personal Website (PWS) from this tab. Contacts Tab The Contacts tab houses your contact and customer information, including each individual’s purchase history and any indicated interests, like hosting a party or joining your team! Orders Tab The Orders tab is where you place all your customer orders. In this tab, you can also place orders for business materials — such as catalogs, party décor, and advertising supplies — by clicking on Scentsy Family Store. You can then track your order status and history by looking under My Orders. Events Tab The Events tab is where you go to learn about and register for events, including our annual Scentsy Family Reunion, training events, incentive trips you can earn, and more! Performance Tab The Performance tab details your monthly sales and team performance so you have the information you need to stay on track and reach your goals. You can also go to this tab to run a variety of reports detailing the performance of your team. Resources Tab The Resources tab includes a variety of tools for growing your business, from party games to print-your-own business cards. You can also look up frequently asked questions, download high-resolution images of products, brush up on Policies and Procedures, and much more. Communication Tab The Communication tab offers an easy way to communicate with your teammates, customers, and contacts each month. Support Tab The Support tab gives you access to help when you need it. Use this tab to submit a support ticket when you have a question, problem, or concern. While our Consultant Support Representatives may also be reached by phone or email, submitting a support ticket is the fastest way to get the help you need. 14 The following links located in the upper-right corner of your Workstation provide further helpful content: Scentsy Select With Scentsy Select, you can enjoy exclusive discounts on the items you need most for your business and personal life. These discounts are available to all Scentsy Family Consultants. Scentsy Family Forum Do you have ideas or questions you’d like to discuss with a fellow Consultant? Visit the Scentsy Family Forum at MyScentsy.com/forum to communicate and share! Pay Portal Log in to the Pay Portal to learn how to track and transfer your funds — and get paid! (For more information on the Pay Portal, see page 20.) Training Center The Training Center is an invaluable resource for gaining knowledge and business expertise. In the New Consultant tab of the Training Center, you’ll find videos designed to help you get your business off to a great start. The Business Building tab of the Training Center contains information on selling, personal development, parties, leadership, and much more! You can also visit the Training Center to register for weekly training calls: Just go to the Training Center home page, find the training call you’d like to register for listed under “Featured Training Sessions,” and select Register Now. You can find the link to the Training Center in the upper-right corner of your Workstation. 15 Your Personal Website (PWS) With your customizable Personal Website (PWS), you can share your story, promote products, collect online orders, announce open parties, recruit new Consultants, and so much more. Your PWS is available in English and Spanish — just direct your Spanish-speaking clients to select their language in the link in the top-right corner of the website, next to the flag. When you join any of the Scentsy Family brands, you get a FREE three-month subscription to your own PWS! After your three free months, you can keep your PWS for a subscription fee of $10 per month. (If you sell more than one Scentsy Family brand, your first PWS subscription is $10 per month after the free three months; additional subscriptions are each $5 per month after the free three months.) If you’d like to keep your website, you don’t need to do anything. If you do not cancel your subscription, the Scentsy Family will automatically charge the monthly subscription to the credit card you used during enrollment; monthly payments will be processed on the same day of the month you initially enrolled. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Although the subscription is optional, you are required to have at least one PWS subscription to sponsor new Consultants, build a team, and sponsor or sell internationally. (For more information about international opportunities, see page 22.) You can manage or sign up for subscriptions in the Account tab of your Workstation. Customizing Your PWS Take some time to personalize your PWS. You can access and edit your PWS from the Account tab by clicking on Edit My Personal Website. From the Account tab, you also have the option to change how your name or phone number displays on your PWS. Just click on Edit My Profile, type your preferred display name or phone number into the space provided, and save your changes by clicking on Save Profile Updates. Doing this allows you to add a business partner or spouse’s name, the name of your corporation, or a nickname. Tip: Add a link to your PWS to your email signature and social media pages to help direct friends, family, and other potential customers to your site. Once they start to browse, they might just fall in love with the products or the opportunity! 16 Scentsy Family Store Scentsy Family Store is an online store for all your business supply needs, no matter which brand(s) you sell, including business and branding tools to attract new customers, Hosts, and recruits. Compensation: How to Grow Your Income The Scentsy Family Compensation Plan offers commissions based on your Personal Retail Volume (PRV) along with leadership bonuses you earn as you build your team. PRV, rank, and commissions are determined at the Scentsy Family level, which means that whether you sell one brand or multiple brands, PRV points add up between all commissionable products you sell. As a new Scentsy Family Consultant, you will earn a 20 percent commission on your PRV. As soon as you earn a cumulative total of 1,000 points in PRV, you will be promoted to the rank of Certified Consultant and begin earning a 25 percent commission. That’s a 5 percent raise you can earn right away! And as you advance from Certified Consultant to Lead Consultant to SuperStar Consultant and beyond, you’ll earn even more from the sales of your team members. (For more details, see the Compensation Plan on page 19.) In addition, you will earn a Monthly Sales Award bonus of an additional 5 percent commission on your PRV if you reach 2,000 PRV points in any given month! Recruiting New Consultants If you subscribe to a Personal Website (PWS), you can sponsor new Consultants and build a Scentsy Family team. As a Scentsy Family Consultant, you are eligible to sponsor new Grace Adele, Velata, or Scentsy Fragrance Consultants, no matter what brand(s) you sell yourself. This allows your recruits to choose the brand they’re most passionate about and still join your team! Here are a few things to keep in mind when recruiting: • New Consultants must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in the Consultant’s state of residence at the time of their enrollment. • New Consultants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, if enrolling in the U.S. • New Consultants must have a valid Taxpayer Identification number (Social Security number or Employer Identification number). • New Consultants must accept the Independent Consultant Agreement (ICA) and purchase a Starter Kit for the brand in which they enrolled. When someone is ready to join your team, ask them to go to your PWS, click on the Join My Team link, and follow the enrollment steps. Your new recruit will need a debit or credit card to pay for their Starter Kit during the enrollment process. 18 flourish Compensation Plan Take a few minutes to study the Compensation Plan detailed below. Your level of compensation is determined by your own rank and the title(s) of the Consultant(s) in your frontline. You will advance in rank as you grow your monthly sales and build your team. Once you meet the monthly requirements listed in the “Responsibilities” columns for any given rank, you will promote to that rank. Your compensation is based on that rank as long as you continue to meet the monthly requirements detailed in the Compensation Plan. PRV is a global point system convertible to local currency using a peg rate, calculated by the formula “tax exclusive price/PRV.” The current peg rate for U.S. is 1 PRV: $1. 25% Escential Consultant RANK 20% RESPONSIBILITIES REWARDS To determine what percentage commission and bonuses you will earn in a given month, first find your rank for the month listed in the “Rank” column. You’ll find commission and bonus information for that rank listed within the same row in the “Rewards” columns. Note that in addition to the commission you earn on your PRV, there are multiple bonuses you can earn based on your team performance. So as you work to grow your business, remember that building your team is just as important as selling product. For definitions of Compensation Plan terms, see the Scentsy Family Glossary on page 28. Visit the Training Center for in-depth Compensation Plan training. 19 Getting Paid Here are the details you’ll need to know: Calculating Commissions The Scentsy Family Compensation Plan is designed to support multiple countries. That’s why commissions are paid based on Personal Retail Volume (PRV) rather than currency. In other words, the Scentsy Family uses points instead of dollars when determining commissions earned, in order to maintain a single Compensation Plan across multiple countries. Once commissions and bonuses are calculated using the points in PRV earned, the figures are then converted to the appropriate currency. To pay commissions, the Scentsy Family uses a calculation that includes a “peg rate” to convert PRV to local currency. The peg rate is set for a period of time and does not correspond to any currency exchange rate. The current peg rate for the United States is 1. To calculate your monthly commission: (Your PRV Points) x (Your Commission Percentage) x (Your Country’s Peg Rate) = Commission in Dollars Scentsy Family Pay Portal As a Scentsy Family Consultant, you receive a Pay Portal account where your commissions and bonuses are loaded each pay day. You can access your Pay Portal account by clicking the Pay Portal link on your Workstation or visiting ScentsyPay.com. From your Scentsy Family Pay Portal account, you may transfer your earnings to either your Compensation Card or a personal bank account, or split them between both. For more information on the Pay Portal, go to the Training Center or the FAQ section of the Pay Portal home page. If you sign up for more than one Scentsy Family brand, your commissions will still go to the same Pay Portal account. Compensation Card As a U.S. Consultant, you will receive a Compensation Card in the mail approximately 15 days after joining your first Scentsy Family brand. Once you activate your card, your commissions and bonuses will automatically be “cashed out” to your card. If you wish to change how your commissions and bonuses are distributed, log in to your Pay Portal account. You will not receive a new card when you sign up for a new brand. Visit the Training Center for more Pay Portal and Compensation Card information. Pay Days Commissions and bonuses for each month are loaded to your Scentsy Family Pay Portal account by the end of the 10th day of the following month; if the 10th falls on a weekend or bank holiday, commissions will be paid on the next business day. For an order to be included in the following month’s commission payment, it must be submitted during the qualifying month prior to 11:59 p.m. (PT) on the last day of the month. For example: Any qualifying sales during the month of April earn a commission payment by May 10. Ranks and titles are updated when commissions are paid. 20 Income Tax Form 1099 Consultants who earn $600 or more in commissions, awards, and/or bonuses across all Scentsy Family brands in one calendar year will receive a Form 1099 from Scentsy, Inc. for tax purposes. This will be available in the Account tab on your Workstation. If you earn $599.99 or less in one calendar year, you will not receive a Form 1099. If you choose, your business account can be listed as a business entity and have a Form 1099 issued to an Employer Identification number. Consultants who wish to list their account as a business entity must submit a signed and completed Business Entity form (located in the Resources tab of your Workstation, under Scentsy Family Forms) and a copy of the Articles of Corporation associated with the business to accountservices@scentsy.com. Tip: W e recommend setting up a separate checking account exclusively for your business so you do not comingle funds between your personal and business accounts. This will help you track business expenses and follow your financial progress. Receiving Payments From Customers Although you may accept payment from customers in whatever form you choose, please keep in mind all payments from Consultants to the Scentsy Family must be made via credit/debit card. We do not accept cash, money orders, or checks from either Consultants or customers. Card Payments Make sure to gather all requested information on the order form: name, card number, expiration date, and security code. The Scentsy Family accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Keep in mind that receiving a customer’s card information is a sacred trust, so treat that trust with care. Your customer’s card information will be transmitted to the Scentsy Family at the time you place the order online. You will not be running the card yourself; the Scentsy Family will process all card payments through the Workstation. Checks Must Be Payable to You If you choose to take a personal check from a customer, make sure there is a phone number listed on the check and wait for it to clear your account before you deliver the products. Tax Rates Any applicable sales tax is collected on all orders. The Workstation will determine the tax rate for the order based on the shipping address. To find the appropriate tax rate, set up your party in your Workstation beforehand. Always collect taxes based on the rate of the location to which your order is being sent. For example: If you hold a party in Oregon, which has no sales tax, but have the party order shipped to an address in Idaho, which has a sales tax rate of 6 percent, you will be charged 6 percent tax on your entire order. In some areas, food items may be taxed differently than non-food items. Shipping Charges Shipping is free for qualifying party orders within the contiguous United States and Canada. Orders shipped directly to customers and orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO addresses incur a charge. Customers can find shipping charges listed on the order forms. Refer to the Shipping Charts found in the Resources tab for full information. 21 International Sales and Sponsoring As a Scentsy Family Consultant, you have the option to sponsor and/or sell internationally in countries where Scentsy Family is present. Your home country is the country you specified during the enrollment process. Your home Region is the Scentsy Family Region your home country is located in. To sell and/or sponsor outside of your home country but within your home Region, you must agree to an In-Region International Service Fee. To sell and/or sponsor outside of your home Region, you must agree to an Out-of-Region International Service Fee. You are also required to enroll in a country-specific International Sales and/or Sponsoring Agreement when you agree to an International Service Fee. Once you have accepted a Scentsy Family International Service Fee, there is no additional cost to enroll in country-specific International Sales and/or Sponsoring Agreements within that Region. The combination of an International Service Fee and a country-specific International Sales and/or Sponsoring Agreement provides the following services: • Currency conversions and tax collection related to your sales and/or the sales of your downline that take place outside of your home country. • Personal Website (PWS) translations into local languages and currencies. • Country-specific product offerings, pricing, and shipping (where applicable). • Ability to sponsor new Consultants in that country. • Access to the Workstation for that country, which includes training materials, country-specific Policies and Procedures, and other tools to help you grow and lead your team outside your home country. International Service Fees help to cover the administrative costs involved with bonus payouts and currency conversion, and must be collected to process your bonus(es) on downline sales outside of your home country. If any of your downline has volume outside of your home country/Region, you may want to keep applicable International Service Fees in effect on a monthly basis. International Service Fee: In-Region Price: $5 per month If you’d like to sell and sponsor outside of your home country, or if you have out-of-country downline that you expect to earn bonuses on, you must agree to an In-Region International Service Fee and enroll in the country-specific International Sales and Sponsoring Agreement. You must have a country-specific International Sales and Sponsoring Agreement for each country in which you’d like to do business. International Service Fee: Out-of-Region Price: $10 per month If you’d like to sponsor Scentsy Family Consultants outside of your home Region, or if you have out-of-Region downline that you expect to earn bonuses on, you must agree to the Out-of-Region International Service Fee and enroll in the country-specific International Sponsoring agreement. You must have a country-specific International Sales and Sponsoring Agreement for each country in which you’d like to do business. To agree to an International Service Fee, go to My Subscriptions in the Account tab on your Workstation. 22 Awards and Recognition You work hard to make your business grow and you deserve to be recognized for your efforts! That’s why we offer a variety of monthly and annual awards that reward your superior work and also encourage your growth and success.* Monthly Awards Monthly awards are given by Scentsy Family to all Consultants who qualify. Each award may be earned numerous times. All monthly awards are earned at the Scentsy Family level through sales and/or recruiting in any or all brands. If a Consultant hasn’t already earned one through the Shooting Star Award, a Scentsy Family charm bracelet will be sent with the first charm a Consultant achieves. Top Sales of the Month by Brand Qualifications: This award is given monthly to the top three Consultants in each title in each brand with the highest Personal Retail Volume (PRV) points in one calendar month. Titles are determined by the Consultant’s title at the beginning of the month. Your rewards include: • Recognition in Scentsy Family’s monthly newsletter, Consultant Spotlight • Money bag charm Sponsor of the Month by Brand Qualifications: This award is given to the top Consultant in each title and each brand with the most personal enrollments in one calendar month; a minimum of three new recruits is required. In the case of a tie, the combined PRV of the new recruits will be used as a tie-breaker. Although these include some of our most important policies, we recommend you read the full Policies and Procedures, which can be found in the Resources tab of your Workstation, under Scentsy Family Documents. Understanding Scentsy Family’s Policies and Procedures is an important part of running your business. By becoming and acting as a Scentsy Family Consultant, you agree to the Independent Consultant Agreement (ICA), which includes the Scentsy Family Policies and Procedures as currently in effect and as changed, revised, or modified in the future. Retailing and Warranties • Scentsy Family products come with a lifetime replacement warranty for manufacturing defects not resulting from regular wear and tear and a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee to all customers for any reason. • Scentsy Family products cannot be sold in a retail store, including mall kiosks, nor may you do cooperative advertising and/or promotion with retail entities. • You may sell Scentsy Family products in the country in which you enrolled on a cash-and-carry basis at fairs, shows, expos, and other temporary events. Please review the fairs and shows policies to make sure you follow best practices for these events. E-commerce and Web Marketing • The brand names “Grace Adele,” “Velata,” “Scentsy,” or any derivatives cannot be used in a domain name/URL, email address, nickname, or online alias. • You may not list or sell Scentsy Family products on eBay, other online auction sites, or any online retail store or e-commerce site, nor may you enlist or knowingly allow a third party to do so. • Advertised product pricing promoted through e-commerce, web, and other marketing vehicles must reflect Scentsy Family pricing as provided in catalogs and promotional materials. Advertising and Promotion • When marketing your business, your efforts must promote the good reputation of Scentsy Family. You must avoid discourteous, deceptive, misleading, or unethical practices. • You must sell products in their original packaging and may not repackage, relabel, or alter the products or labels in any way other than adding a personalized sticker. • If you want to use a Scentsy Fragrance, Velata, or Grace Adele logo in your marketing efforts, please be sure to use the Independent Consultant logo. You may not use the corporate logos. corporate logos PANTON PANTON independent consultant logos PANTON Full-color 26 INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT Policy for Inactivity A Consultant must have a monthly total of at least 150 points in Personal Retail Volume (PRV) during at least one month in a consecutive three-month period to be considered current. All Consultants who do not meet this minimum qualification, including those holding Director-level titles, will keep their account but become ineligible to retain downline. In these instances, any existing downline will roll up to their Sponsor, or the next downline-eligible Consultant in their upline, and their title will change to Certified Consultant, if applicable. If a Consultant is inactive for two consecutive months, a checkmark will appear in the third month in the Will Lose Downline Report, under the Will Lose Downline column, until 150 PRV points are earned. The 150 points in PRV can come from individual customer orders, party orders, or online orders made through your Personal Website (PWS). If a Consultant earns no PRV points during the six-month period ending on December 31, their account will be cancelled on January 1.* To review your (and your downline’s) activity, go to the Performance tab on your Workstation and click on Start a New Report. *If your Scentsy Family account is cancelled, you may be eligible to restore your account by contacting Account Services at accountservices@scentsy.com. 27 Scentsy Family Glossary active A Consultant is considered active if they have at least 150 points in Personal Retail Volume (PRV) during the monthly commission period. Consultants within your downline must meet this criteria to count toward the active frontline requirement listed on the Compensation Plan. bonus The amount paid out to leaders (Lead Consultants and above) as a percentage of Personal Wholesale Volume (PWV) on personal sales and the Team Wholesale Volume (TWV) of downline Consultants’ sales. brand One of the several product brands within the Scentsy Family of brands owned by Scentsy, Inc. and its affiliate companies worldwide. These brands currently include Scentsy Fragrance, Velata, and Grace Adele. commission The compensation paid to a Consultant for the personal sales of commissionable products. Compensation The various levels of compensation you can earn as you advance to different Plan Consultant levels. Perpetual PartyIf a guest at a party books his or her own party, the original Host will receive an Reward additional half-price item if they attend that qualifying party. Personal RetailThe point value of commissionable products you sell. If enrolled in more than Volume (PRV) one Scentsy Family brand, your Personal Retail Volume (PRV) will accumulate between brands. Personal Wholesale 75% of the point value of commissionable products that you sell. Volume (PWV) (PRV) x (0.75) = PWV Personal Website When you join any Scentsy Family brand, you get a FREE three-month (PWS) subscription to your own Personal Website (PWS), which will help you promote your business, collect online orders, announce online parties, and recruit new Consultants. After the first three months, you can maintain your first PWS subscription for a fee of $10 per month; additional brands are $5 per month. rank The qualification level at which the Consultant’s compensation will be determined from month to month. roll up When a vacancy occurs in a downline organization due to the cancellation of a Scentsy Family business or a Consultant losing their downline, everyone shifts up one level: The first level (or frontline) of the cancelled Consultant now becomes the first level (or frontline) of the cancelled Consultant’s Sponsor, or of the next downline-eligible Consultant in their upline. Scentsy FamilyThe name used to identify the various brands of products owned by Scentsy, Inc. and its affiliated companies worldwide. Scentsy brands currently include Scentsy Fragrance, Velata, and Grace Adele. Scentsy Family A grouping of countries defined by Scentsy. Currently, there are two Scentsy Region Family Regions: Region 1 and Region 2. Region 1 includes the United States, its territories, and Canada. Region 2 includes the UK, Germany, and Ireland. Sponsor The Consultant who includes you in their frontline; generally, this is the individual you enrolled under to become a Scentsy Family Consultant. Starter Kit A collection of tools necessary to start your business. This kit is required as part of your enrollment as a Consultant in each Scentsy Family brand. team A Consultant and their downline, excluding any Directors in their group and those Directors’ downlines. Team Wholesale The sum of the Personal Wholesale Volume (PWV) of each person on a team. Volume (TWV) title Generally, the highest rank achieved by a Consultant to date. A Consultant’s title only changes by advancement, except in cases of Directors not meeting Director rank requirements or loss of downline. Training Center A centralized location for all training content available to Scentsy Family Consultants. Access the Training Center by clicking the link in the upper-right corner of your Workstation home page. Will LoseA Consultant must have a monthly total of at least 150 points in Personal Retail Downline Volume (PRV) during at least one month in a consecutive three-month period to be considered current. All Consultants who do not meet this minimum qualification, including those holding Director-level titles, will keep their account but become ineligible to retain downline. In these instances, any existing downline will roll up to their Sponsor, or the next downline-eligible Consultant in their upline, and their title will change to Certified Consultant, if applicable. Workstation This is the heart of your business. You will use it to place and track orders, set up your events, track your sales, get information on news and events, and much more. You can log in with your Consultant ID number or username and password at workstation.scentsy.us. 29 Have Questions? Commonly Requested Information Below you’ll find some of the most commonly requested information. Shipping Times Scentsy Family policy is to ship your order within 10 business days of the date the order is submitted. Shipping times will vary throughout the month as the load on the shipping department fluctuates. Most of the time, orders placed the first and last weeks of the month ship more slowly than orders placed during the middle of the month. You can check the shipping status of your order by viewing your Order History, located on the home page of your Workstation. If your order has not shipped within 10 business days, submit a support ticket. Back Orders If your order status indicates “PBO,” a back order situation exists. As soon as the product is available, it will be shipped to you. Once all back-ordered products are shipped, the status will change to “Shipped” and a new tracking code will be assigned. Replacements for Broken, Damaged, or Defective Items Scentsy Family will replace broken, damaged, or defective items. To return a broken, damaged, or defective item, please submit a support ticket or call Consultant Support with the following information: Consultant ID number, order number, customer name, description of the product defect, and address where the replacement should be shipped to. A Consultant Support Representative will enter the replacement order and ship the replacement product. If an item is defective or damaged during shipment, Scentsy Family is accountable for all shipping charges and will send a return shipping label to use in sending back the damaged/ defective item. On replacements where returning the defective product is required, Scentsy Family does require that a temporary debit be placed against your Product Credit account until the defective product is received by Scentsy Family, at which time this debit will be removed. If the product hasn’t been received within 30 days, the value of the product will be deducted from your commission.* Payment Processing Dates for Monthly Subscriptions Scent and/or Warmer of the Month subscription payments are processed on the 15th of each month. Personal Website (PWS) and International Service Fee subscription payments are processed each month on the anniversary day of your enrollment. 30 *To exchange an undamaged product, you (or, if you prefer, your customer) will be held accountable for return shipping charges. Your customers have 30 days from the date of purchase to exchange an item. If you are returning undamaged product to Scentsy Family that was returned to you by a customer, Scentsy Family must receive that product within 10 days from when you received the merchandise from your customer.
