The number of affected children continues to grow. In March of 2014 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that 1 in 68 U.S. children are diagnosed with Autism. As this and similar populations grow into adulthood they need to be prepared to live and function independently in the community and to be gainfully employed. This fast-paced, practical and evidence-based workshop will help you gain new insight into the world of Autism, sensory differences and related challenges. You will be introduced to the Intervention Hierarchy, a unique tool used to guide your day-to-day interaction, problem solving and treatment planning. Extensive use of examples, pictures and anecdotes will prepare you to use the strategies immediately and effectively in any setting. Whether you’re working in pre-school, high school or between, this workshop will prepare you to discourage negative behaviors while fostering growth in all levels of social, academic and behavioral skill development.
