2015 ARBOR DAY POSTER CONTEST 2014 Winner Sophia Feghali ~ Holy Family Catholic School GRADES K - 5 Educate your students about the importance of trees by having them draw a poster that represents the theme “Celebrate Trees in Our Community” When you Look into our Urban Forest WHAT DO YOU SEE? You are invited to participate in the annual poster contest sponsored by the Grand Junction Forestry Board. Your complimentary 12” x 18” pads of poster paper will be available to pick up by Wednesday, February 18 or we can make arrangements to deliver to your school. Categories are: Best per grade per school Best overall in the Grand Valley In April, The Grand Junction Forestry Board will give a half hour presentation on the importance of trees, give each student in the participating class a seedling tree and announce the school winners. Teachers please contact the Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Department to schedule the date and time at (970)254-3861. The Grand Valley winner will have a tree planted, and a commemorative granite plaque placed in a Grand Junction park of their choice. 5th grade winners from each school will have their posters sent to the State competition. The winning poster from every grade at each school will be on display at Mesa County Central Library at 530 Grand Avenue, Grand Junction, CO
