The club activities include local and regional tours, social events, and restoration assistance and advice. General meetings are held the first Friday of each month at 8:00 P.M. The club welcomes new members who share our passion for these historic automobiles. Members need to realize that the success and continuity of the Regional Groups and Affiliated Registries is based on the quality of the organization’s communication. Issue: 2015-03-16 #03 · · 2015 HCCA Convention – The 2015 HCCA Annual Convention and Tours was held in Kerrville, TX between March 1 and March 6, 2015. The event was attended by 137 members and 56 vehicles from all across the US. Though touring was unexpectedly wet and cold, the vehicles were out in force and the growing friendships kept us warm. Between the dinners, ice cream, great rolling scenery, seminar, videos, annual meeting, awards and general member meeting, all participants had a fantastic time. 2015 HCCA National Board Officers – At the annual meeting, new officers for the HCCA National Board of Directors were elected … President – Vice President – Treasurer – Secretary – Chairman – Karl Darby Carl Pate Chris Paulsen Bob Ladd Bill Carpenter For details on the Board of Directors, go the club web site www.HCCA.org · · 2014 Marian Welch Award – The award is presented annually to a member who has demonstrated truly outstanding service to HCCA. Though there were excellent nominees, this year the HCCA highest service award went to Don Rising and Skip Carpenter. Congratulations to both members for all of their efforts over many years of service (… so far). · Distribution of Newsletters – To promote the quality communication winners, a program was put in place where the winning editors could send their releases to the HCCA office for distribution to the HCCA National Board Members. · Century Plaque Program Changes Century Plaque Web Page … HCCA.org / “Calendar & Cars” / “Century Plaque Program”- For over past 13 years, the premier Century Plaque program has collected information of vehicles worldwide that have survived 100 years. To honor 2014 National Communication Awards – This year after a review of the program, there were changes made in the forms, policy and procedures. The editors now have to choose to participate and the award program focuses on quality. A large number 4 Horseless Herald April 2015 all of the centurion vehicles, we have created web pages that describe the program and honor the vehicles. For confidential reasons we are not able to directly honor those who made it happen – The hunters, restorers and owners. Plaque Issuance Policy …Will the Century Plaque Program issue plaques to vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, wagons, etc…) when they are outside of the HCCA Club date range? The answer is YES… Plaques will be issued to vehicles manufactured after 1915 when they are 100 years old. Though later vehicles may not qualify to appear in the HCCA Gazette article, all honored vehicles will be listed and appear on the new Century Plaque Program web site pages on the HCCA web site. No vehicle will be left behind. · New 2015 HCCA Brochure – The new HCCA brochure has been approved and printed. If a Regional Group or Affiliated Registry or member wants some of the new brochures to promote the organization, they should contact the HCCA office.
