Session Descriptions

How to do Business with General Services Purchasing Division
The Purchasing Division is responsible for the procurement of all goods and
related services for over 60 city agencies. Buyers will be presenting
information about bidding procedures, where to find bids, bidding thresholds
and P-Cards, prevailing wage, Applicable Ordinances and more.
•
Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) is dedicated to advancing
economic prosperity for the City of Denver, its businesses, neighborhoods and
residents. The Denver Office of Economic Development will be presenting on
the following topics;
 Division of Small Business Opportunities (DSBO) Certification
and Compliance: DSBO promotes the growth of small business by providing


access to government contracting opportunities. DSBO is dedicated to helping
minority-, women- and disadvantaged-owned businesses, as well as small and
emerging businesses, to compete for opportunities through the city’s Business
Certification programs.
Business Development: The Business Development team performs business
retention, business attraction and small business support functions on behalf of the
City and County of Denver while targeting high-growth industries and focus areas in
the city. Additionally, the team administers the Denver Enterprise Zone tax credit
program, manages Denver’s business incentives, and is responsible for implementing
multiple elements of the OED’s JumpStart strategic plan.
Workforce Development: Workforce Development serves as an employment
resource, providing assistance with staff recruitment, retention and training to
employers throughout Denver. Denver Workforce Development services include
training subsidy programs, customized employee recruitment, individual
assessments, and job posting aids.

The Denver International Airport will be presenting information on how to
access procurement opportunities at DIA, the key steps involved in the
procurement process, where you can find support in navigating the
procurement process, and the benefits of pursuing opportunities at the Airport.
