Mission Aviation Fellowship TC Lam Update Feb-Mar 15 Our MAF Journey The VanDerVelde family Cyclone Lam I Besides lots of rain and some wind TC Lam mostly missed us at Yirrkala. The communities west of us where there are MAF bases, houses and families bore the brunt of it though. The MAF families and planes there had been evacuated safely to Darwin but we had grave concerns for many of the people we serve and partner with along with the MAF infrastructure. We praise God that everyone was ok. A huge thanks for all your prayers, concern and messages of support. We really appreciate it. TC Lam track at most dangerous point Crazy last day Galiwinku, Elcho Island before Oct 14 looking west Elcho Island after TC Lam. Looking North Broken Communities Walmsley’s MAF House Ramingining Unfortunately there was a lot of damage sustained to the remote communities that we serve. Most trees where either stripped of all leaves or blown over creating a lot of damage and consequently clean-up work. Power, water, phone lines and all communication was cut-off to most communities and houses. Many people couldn’t communicate with their isolated friends and family on Elcho for a long time. MAF was able to provide some info to these people to reassure them their loves ones were ok. Roland & Sarah: M: 0466681920 Postal Address: P.O.
