A GUIDE TO LINE CLEANING USING PIPELINE™

A GUIDE TO LINE CLEANING USING PIPELINE™
ANY DRAUGHT BEER OUTLETS WITH STANDARD CLEANING EQUIPMENT SHOULD AIM TO CLEAN
THEIR PIPES ON A WEEKLY BASIS. THIS REGULAR PROCESS WILL THEN PREVENT PRODUCT AND
LINE CONTAMINATION FROM YEAST AND BIOFILM WHICH CAN DRAMATICALLY EFFECT THE
PRODUCT QUALITY AND DISPENSE.
AN INTRODUCTION TO PIPELINE™
The first, original, caustic free, line cleaner to use the colour change technology.
Specifically designed to produce optimum cleaning results, this intelligent alkaline
based beer line cleaner also offers improved health and safety and protection for your
lines.
Note:
To maximise PIPELINE™ ’s effectiveness it is important you complete the following recommended
process.
Although PIPELINE™ is much safer than traditional chlorinated products, we still recommended using
appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves, apron and goggles.

A GUIDE TO LINE CLEANING USING PIPELINE™
Measure out PIPELINE™ using a dilution rate of 1:40
Place PIPELINE™ into cleaning bottle and top up with cold water
(a sample can be taken at this stage for comparison once
cleaning complete)
Connect the cleaning bottle to the cleaning ring main
Bleed the fob detectors until the chamber is filled with purple
solution.
WAIT 5 MINUTES
(while you wait, wipe down your cellar equipment and
pipework with a diluted PIPELINE™ solution)
After 5 minutes the cleaning fluid in a dirty chamber will change
colour, bleed off discoloured solution. (you may have to repeat
the last two processes until you are confident a stable purple
fluid is achieved)

A GUIDE TO LINE CLEANING USING PIPELINE™
NOW GO TO THE BAR
Remove all sparklers and spouts for cleaning (remembering
where the belong). Place in a pint glass or container with a
dilute PIPELINE™ solution.
Draw cleaning fluid through to all taps. It is likely the initially
dispensed fluid will not be the same purple solution as the
cellar, keep pouring until some form of purple solution is
poured.
WAIT 5 MINUTES
(while you wait, wipe down the taps, drip trays and brackets
with the dilute PIPELINE™ solution)
After 5 minutes, pour off the dirty solution, in cases of extreme
contamination, this can even be black! Keep pouring again until
more purple solution is dispensed, try to pour off a full line full
of fluid.
WAIT 5 MINUTES
Draw off more fluid, under normal circumstances the previous
soaks should be sufficient to clean an average line and there
should be no colour reaction at all. If, however, at this stage you
find you are still getting colour reactions then continue with a
further 5 minute soak. Once completed, if you continue to get
reactions, contact our technical department on 01794 324876
to discuss and possibly book an intense professional clean.

NOW GO BACK TO THE CELLAR
Disconnect the cleaning bottle from the cleaning ring main
Empty and rinse out any purple solution from the bottle (dilute
PIPELINE™ can be run to drain)
Refill the cleaning bottle with fresh water from the mains
Reconnect the cleaning bottle to the cleaning ring main
Bleed the fob detectors until filled with fresh water and no
purple residue remains
NOW GO BACK TO THE BAR
Draw off fluid from all taps until no purple solution remains (as
PIPELINE™ is coloured it allows to you to be completely sure
that no cleaning solution is left in the line, as a result by using
PIPELINE™ you will invariably save on reduced water wastage,
time and money)
Every box of PIPELINE™ is supplied with a pack of Neutral Litmus
papers, these can be used to check that all traces of cleaning
fluid have been removed from the line. To use, simply pull off
some fluid from each tap and dip in the test paper, if any
PIPELINE™ is present the paper will turn purple. If any trace is
found, continue to flush the line with clean water then try the
test again.
