Your feedback is made up of what buyers have said about you. Sellers can leave buyers a positive feedback score. Buyers can leave sellers both positive and negative scores. You Receive: • +1 point every time one of your buyers says something positive about you • 0 points if you receive a neutral comment • - point for each negative comment In addition, the number of people who have left comments about you listed. For example, Jonathan (340) 98.8% positive means that 340 buyers have left feedback comments for user ID: Jonathan, and 98.8% of them were positive. Having a good feedback score from a large number of buyers is the number one thing you can do to boost your credibility on eBay as a seller. Not surprisingly, buyers tend to trust those sellers who have the longest track records (that is, who have sold the most items) and who have managed to satisfy the vast majority of their customers. Getting to the point where you have a good number of positive comments can take time for a new eBay seller. There are no tricks; you simply need to buy and sell as many items as possible and deliver great customer service. If a customer complains, make sure you resolve their problem immediately - or you’ll almost inevitably get a negative comment. Detailed Seller Ratings Buyers can expand on the information they provide to other eBay members when giving feedback on a purchase. • Item as described - Was the item represented accurately in the description and the photos? Were there any surprises when the item actually arrived? • Communication - How well - and how quickly - did the seller respond to queries? • Shipping time - Did the buyer receive the item within a reasonable timeframe? • Shipping & Handling - Were these charges appropriate given the size and weight of the item? [11] EBAY FEEDBACK [12] HOW BIDDING WORKS eBay automates a great deal of the bidding process for buyers, making it easy for them to bid on and track auctions. This is good news for sellers. Since it is so easy for buyers - not just to place the initial bid, but to stay on top of the auction so as not to get outbid - they are prone to bid more frequently, and higher. There are three steps to placing a bid: 1) From within the item listing, the buyer clicks the Place Bid button. 2) They enter the maximum amount they are willing to pay for that item (they can increase this later if the bidding exceeds that amount and they wish to continue participating in the auction). 3) Review the bid, and click the “Confirm Bid” button. That’s it! eBay will then bid on behalf of buyers, up to the maximum amount they specified. This is called a “Proxy Bid”. The bidding will increase automatically in increments based upon the last bid received for the item. For example, say a buyer is bidding on a vase where the current bid is $10, and they have specified a maximum bid of $25. If someone else submits a bid for $11, eBay will automatically submit a bid on that first bidder’s behalf for $11.50. If another bidder tops that, then eBay will automatically bid 50 cents more on the first bidder’s behalf, up to $5. But as eBay has grown, it’s become important that eBay restrict (or forbid) auctions for various items. Some of the restrictions relate to eBay.com (the U.S. site) while other restrictions apply to specific international sites (for example, Nazi paraphernalia is forbidden in Israel and Germany). Regional laws and regulations may apply to either the seller or teh buyer. Among the hundred or so banned or restricted categories, these are the main ones: • Tobacco (tobacco-related collectibles are allowed) • Alcohol (alcohol-related collectibles, including sealed containers, as well as wine sales by licensed sellers, are allowed • Drugs and paraphernalia • Bootleg recordings • Firearms and ammunition • Used underwear and dirty used clothing • Teachers’ editions of textbooks, including home-school teachers’ editions • Human parts and remains • Live animals • Certain copyrighted works or trademarked items • Lottery tickets, sweepstakes tickets, or any other gambling items • Digital download products [14] BUYING ON EBAY - MY PURCHASES [15] http://www.hotsniper.com/specialoffer.htm HOTSNIPER HotSniper is unique. Basically you need to IGNORE the email you receive from HotSniper once the bidding is completed. As a side note, once you win the item you’ll be asked to pay for it - typically with PayPal. This is another indication you’ve won the bid! [17] HOW TO USE HOTSNIPER http://www.hotsniper.com/specialoffer.htm On the main dashboard you’ll have several options. As a reminder, due to recent eBay changes, HotSniper can’t track your “wins”. As a result, all closed auctions will appear in the “lost” or “all” columns - even those that you have one. Keep in mind that many of the buyers on eBay know exactly what they are looking for. Be specific - if you are imprecise or vague you will get tons of questions from buyers - and end up missing sales opportunities. Make sure you cover the following things in your descriptions: • Item Features: List all the specifications - color, dimensions, size, weight, quantity, and everything else you can think of that describes the item completely. Don’t leave anything out, no matter how minor a point it might be. • Item Benefits: How will purchasing this item make the buyer’s life better or easier? Will using the item save them time? Make a task easier? Will buying it from you save them money? Be sure to emphasize the benefits, as well as the features, of what you’re selling. • Item Condition: This is a critical aspect of your description. Is it new in the box? Is it used but still under the warranty? Is it broken? Are there are any flaws or repairs you (or others) have made to the item? • Frequently Asked Questions: What material is the item made of? When was it made? What company, artist, designer or author made it? What country is it from? What is the model and/or make? Does it have a special background or history? Do you offer expedited shipping? Is there a warranty? Try to anticipate anything that a potential buyer would want to know about your item. • Terms and Policies: You must specify exactly what your policies are with regard to everything about the sale. Do you require the buyer to pay for shipping insurance? Do you allow for returns? What should a buyer do if not completely satisfied? Anything and everything that a buyer needs to know before bidding should be listed in the description. Otherwise, you risk getting negative feedback from winning bidders who feel they weren’t informed about all aspects of the listing. This critical step is necessary for Template Optimizer to post directly on eBay. Click the green “Request Access” button. Reminder: Do NOT use Internet Explorer to create eBay listings with Template Optimizer. There are known issues that could cause you issue. Next, you’ll be directed to eBay where you enter your eBay username and password. Make sure to enter this information correctly - Again, enter your eBay username and password and not your Template Optimizer username and password. Question: Can I use these templates if I live in London, UK? Answer: Yes, you can use Template Optimizer regardless of where you live in the world? Question: Do I have to live in the U.S. to use the TO Dropshipping? Answer: No. The only requirement is that you list the items on eBay.com and select a US shipping method. Question: Can I use Template Optimizer with multiple eBay Seller ID’s? Answer: Not at this time. Question: How many pictures can I upload using TO? Answer: With TO you can upload as many pictures as necessary to best highlight the item you are selling. The better the feedback the more you will sell it’s as simple as that. And, being part of the eBay Top Rated Seller Program is an important element as well. Starting in June, Top-Rated sellers will need to have tracking information uploaded to eBay on at least 90% of all transactions with US Buyers. Starting June 1, when a Top-Rated seller includes 2 key services they will earn a 20% discount in final value fees (eBay commissions) as well as receive the highest average boost in Best Match. These are: • 1-day handling time • 14-day or longer return policy with money-back option You can choose not to offer 1-day handling or a 14-day or longer return policy on some or all of your listings. Based on your great track record, all your listings will continue to receive some additional exposure and a Top-Rated seller badge. However, only your listings with both these services (1-day handling and 14-day + return policy) will receive the maximum exposure and 0% final value fee discount. And, to include as many sellers as possible, the annual sales requirement to become a Top-Rated seller will be lowered to $1,000. Note: The eBay Top-Rated seller program started three years ago. Since then, over half of eBay sales are now from Top-Rated sellers. Both industry research and purchase behavior show that prompt shipping and a good return policy are increasingly important. Buyers expect their items to ship without delay once they pay and they want to be able to see when their order has shipped.
