http://eaubaltic.uroweb.org EAU Baltic Meeting 23-25 May 2014 Vilnius, Lithuania EAU meetings and courses are accredited by the EBU in compliance with the UEMS/EACCME regulations Programme European Association of Urology General Information Abstracts The accepted abstracts of the EAU Regional Meetings are going to be published online by Elsevier as an official supplement of European Urology. This supplement will be online as of 1 July 2014 at www.sciencedirect.com. The abstracts will also be online at http:// eaubaltic2014.uroweb.org/. The abstracts are documented in an international online journal and can be cited, providing proof of the academic productivity of the regions. Accreditation Certificate of attendance The ‘EAU Baltic Meeting’ is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www. uems.net. Delegates who have attended the meeting can print their certificate of attendance online through http://eaubaltic2014.uroweb.org/ using the barcode on the badge. This option is available as of Wednesday, 28 May 2014. The ‘EAU Baltic Meeting’ is designated for a maximum of 12 hours of European external CME credits. The EACCME credit system is based on 1 ECMEC per hour with a maximum of 3 ECMECs for half a day and 6 ECMECs for a full-day event. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/go/ internationalcme. 2 Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognized by the UEMS-EACCME for ECMEC credits are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Jievaltas, Kaunas (LT) D. Milonas, Kaunas (LT) Aims and objectives Laparoscopic procedures are continuously evolving in urology based on the increasing expertise of urologic surgeons. This includes ablative procedures, such as radical nephrectomy as well as reconstructive techniques, such as pyeloplasty. Some advanced procedures (i.e. radical prostatectomy, radical cystectomy) have both, ablative and reconstructive steps. Since the number of centres with laparoscopic expertise is still limited in Europe, laparoscopic training programmes have become very important. Hands-on training courses at the pelvi-trainer represent one of the main steps of such courses. Finally, all remaining questions can be answered and discussed with all tutors including the demonstration of tips and tricks. You can register at the EAU registration desk. 23-25 May 2014 5 Programme Saturday, 24 May 2014 09.00 – 11.00 Session 2 Castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer: Where we are in 2014 Chairs: F.M.J.
