The Center
• Closest bus stop - 2 km
⇒ Get a ride
• Cafeteria, where you eat
lunch
• Activity Clubs: football,
tennis, etc.
• Guards requiring ID and
ESAC badge the first
days
GW-2007 – p.2/7
The People
• Other Trainees
• The Supervisors
• The Staff at ESAC
GW-2007 – p.3/7
The Concept of the Project
The Phases:
• Read the documentation and learn the software
• Further confine the project with your supervisors
• Process the data
• Present the results
GW-2007 – p.4/7
My Project (1)
EPIC-pn can operate in different modes.
Energy spectra can be retrieved from each mode. These should
coincide, which is not always true.
Take a line-rich source such as Cassiopeia A
GW-2007 – p.5/7
My Project (2)
Differences between the two modes before the correction:
Energy Spectra − Cas A
Red − FF, Black − Burst w/ no corr.
