CLARINET CHOIR SMALL GROUP
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The KOG Clarinet Choir has developed small group
outreach programs for our local community, so as to
provide music for smaller venues in nursing homes/
retirement centers, individual homes and hospice settings.
The small ensembles (typically 4 clarinetists) are also
joined by a few singers from KOG Women’s Choir to
help lead the group singing. Often individuals and family
members are asked before the visit to choose favorite
hymns and songs to include in the program to reflect the
preferences of the patients/residents. Contact Cyndee
Chaffee at cyndeec@kogaz.org to arrange a small
group program.

Message from the Director
Our Members
King of Glory Clarinet Choir is a community
clarinet ensemble which was formed in June, 2009
and today has 20+ members ranging from middle
school to senior retirees. The group’s musical repertoire ranges from sacred to show tunes and incorporates Bb clarinets, Alto, Bass, Contra-Bass clarinets
and sometimes Eb clarinet. In addition, for some of
the musical pieces, the added sounds of piano, bass
guitar, percussion and jazz singer, Laurie Fagen join
the Clarinet Choir for a “fun, musical mix”.
Cyndee Chaffee
Cyndee received a Bachelor of Music
Education degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Music in clarinet performance from the
University of Oklahoma-Norman. Before
she moved to Arizona, she was professor
of clarinet at Northwestern College in St.
Paul, Minnesota.
Currently, Cyndee maintains a private
teaching studio, and is clarinetist with the
Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble. As a
vocalist, Cyndee has sung professionally
with the Roger Wagner Chorale, The
Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields
Chorus, the London Symphony Chorus,
the Dale Warland Singers and the Tucson
Chamber Artists. She is the Founder and
former Artistic Director of the Catalinas
Community Chorus in Tucson, Arizona.
Cyndee serves as Director of Worship
and Music Ministries at King of Glory
Lutheran Church in Tempe, Arizona.
We are always looking for new clarinetists to
come and play with the group. Some of the
clarinetists in the choir did not play clarinet for
many years (25+) and have found it surprising how
quickly their playing skills return (and improve!). If
you play the clarinet or have played clarinet in the
past … you are most welcome to join us!!
We provide programs for:
Churches
Art Festivals
Healthcare & Retirement Facilities
Community Events
Luncheon
Holiday Specials
Private Social Events
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
