Telford Pulling Together Charter Telford Pulling Together Charter Corporate Social Responsibility is the commitment of a business to contribute to sustainable economic development – working with employees, their families, the local community and society at large to improve the quality of life, in ways that are both good for business and good for development. We are committed to giving something back to Telford, the community in which we live and work. Responsible behaviour is part of everything we do. It allows us to grow and develop a profitable business whilst at the same time encouraging sustainable development within the Borough of Telford and Wrekin. We pledge that we will: Support staff to volunteer their time for schemes such as: business mentoring of a local project, group, school etc. contributing skills and expertise to aid day to day operations; joining the board or management committee of a local group; becoming a school governor; supporting numeracy or literacy projects. Help local people into work by doing any or all of the following: offer work placements; help run CV skills sessions; provide interview practice; hold visits to our workplace. Undertake fundraising / community activities by doing any or all of the following: Donate goods or services for free or at a reduced cost such as: o used furniture or IT equipment; o tools or specific equipment; o free accountancy, legal, quantity surveying, PR, design, printing advice or services. Encourage employees to sign up to payroll giving or to organise a fundraising event in support of local community groups. Encourage local business to business trading. Make a cash donation each year to support local community activity. Provide small cash donations or goods or services to use as raffle prizes or gifts for competitions. Encourage employees to sign up to payroll giving or to organise a fundraising event in support of local community groups. Where number of employees allows – encourage team activities to support a local school or community group with a particular project such as: o painting; o creating garden spaces; o gardening; o litter picking.
