Tomas Colbengtson Presentation Images and glass art. My name is Tomas Colbengtson I am born in Tärnaby Sweden, lives and works in Tärna and Stockholm. I am sami, and in my works I often refers to Sami culture, asking questions about the cultural identity and existence. I would like to present some of my resent work where I focus on identity, time, religion and perception. I have been working a an artist for over 20 years and gradually my artistic works portrays more clearly my own and Sami peoples experience and history, with theme of identity and reflexing about cultural identity and law against speaking your own language and practice your religion. Perhaps cultural identity is the drivingforce behind all art, music and craft? The traditional sami ornaments and handcraft still exist and is a bearer of the culture as well as the landscape it selves and stories that are told to preserve a common history. In my artwork I also is trying to visualize some of the things you can’t explain by word and try to take a step behind. Please look at my webpage : www.colbengtson.com for more information. At the end of this document you can find my CV. Cordialement vôtre/ Dearvuoáiguin Tomas Colbengtson Born 1957 in Tärnaby, lives and works in Stockholm.
