World Mission Sunday (Propagation of the
Faith) — Next weekend, October 18th & 19th,
our parish and other parishes throughout our
diocese and the world will celebrate World Mission
Sunday. This is a common fund distributed
globally in the Pope’s name. This year we are invited to act in
solidarity with missionaries in India and throughout the world.
Every day, faithful missionaries are reaching out in the name of
Christ, offering practical, emotional and spiritual care to
communities, children and families in desperate need, and
bringing the light of Christ to the darkest of circumstances. For
more info rma tion v is it the mis sion w ebsite:

included in your October envelope package. Your generosity
will be appreciated.
2015 MASS & CANDLE REQUEST FORM is inserted in the

carefully before making your requests. Just as a
reminder — we try to fulfill everyone’s requests,

basis. If your requested date is not available, the request will be
scheduled on the closest available date. Once all 2015 Mass Intention
Requests are scheduled, then additional requests can be made in writing

Saint Thomas More University Parish - Mass with Anointing
On Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 PM there be a Mass with the Sacrament
of the Anointing of the Sick at Saint Thomas More University Parish in
Indiana. Through this sacrament, the Church desires to bring strength
and healing to those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit. It is not a
sacrament to be experienced only near the point of death. Rather, those
who are aware of serious illness, as well as those who recognize the
many frailties brought about by advancing age, are invited to have
recourse to this sacrament.
If you are not able to attend the liturgy at Saint Thomas More university
Parish, but would like to request a “home visit” for Anointing of the Sick
for yourself or a loved one, please call Father Willie at the Parish Office
at 724.479.3881, extension 202.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PIEROGI MAKING
First session of “pierogi making” will be this coming
Tuesday evening, October 14 at 5:00PM in the Parish Hall
and will continue weekly until we reach our goal.
Come and give a hand! Many hands make light the load!
If you have a concern about sexual abuse of a child or young person
by anyone in a parish or diocesan position — clergy, volunteer or paid
staff — please contact Bishop Brandt’s delegate for matters of sexual
misconduct at (724) 837-0901, Ext. 1221.
TWENTY-EIGHTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
From Father Willie’s Desk…
ATTENTION:
All cookie
bakers (and
those who
might like to try)!
In the next week, if you have a few free moments and
would like to do something that will help benefit our Parish
AND our 25th Anniversary celebrations on Sunday,
October 19, you might want to “whip up” a batch of your
FAVORITE cookie recipe and share them with us for all to
enjoy!
Your FRESH-BAKED, YUMMY cookies can be dropped off at
the Church or Parish Office at your convenience, or you can
freeze them at your home and drop them off on Saturday,
October 18 — whatever works best for you!
We will serve the cookies at the reception in the Parish Hall
following the 2:00 PM Mass on Sunday, October 19 and at
the banquet at Rustic Lodge after dinner that evening.
THANKS MUCH!
PLEASE NOTE that on Sunday, October 19, we will NOT
have our regularly scheduled 9:00 AM Mass so that we can
celebrate with a large assembly of our parishioners and
friends of our Parish at the 2:00 PM Mass. We will,
however, have our regularly scheduled Mass on Saturday,
October 18 at 6:00 PM.
If you would like to attend the Anniversary Banquet at
Rustic Lodge and have not yet returned your RSVP, PLEASE
do so ASAP! We need to respect the folks at Rustic Lodge
and get them our final dinner count no later than Monday
of this week.
ALSO…
Blessings and best wishes are extended to those from our
Parish Family who are joining many other couples from
across the Diocese as they celebrate with Bishop Brandt at
the Golden Wedding Anniversary Mass at Blessed
Sacrament Cathedral this weekend (Sunday at 3:00 PM).
This event is a wonderful opportunity to thank God for the
gift of Marriage and all that it offers to families and the
greater community.
May God bless all of our Golden Jubilarians abundantly as
they celebrate 50 years of married life together! Let us be
sure to actively pray for God to shower us with an
appreciation for the graces that flow from parents,
children, brothers sisters and all those who share in our
family life!
Have a blessed week ahead! - Father Willie
