Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
COME TO THE FEAST
“On this mountain, the Lord of hosts will provide for all peoples a feast of rich food and choice wines” (Isaiah
25:6). That’s what Isaiah tells us today. God is putting together a huge party for “all peoples,” to “wipe away the tears
from every face” (Isaiah 25:8).
And what does Jesus tell us? The reign of God, he says, “may be likened to a king who gave a wedding feast for his
son” (Matthew 22:2). When the guests didn’t come, the king had his servants go out “into the main roads and invite to
the feast whomever you find” (Matthew 22:9). We are called to deliver that invitation.
One of the themes woven into today’s liturgy is that of divine generosity. Asleep to reality, people often think they
have “earned” what they have. In our better moments, though, we know that all our gifts—even the spiritual gifts—
come through God’s generosity. Our vocation is to invite people, to remind them the tickets aren’t for sale. We can only
show up and say thank you. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
40 Days For Life
From September 24th through November 2nd our community
will join a worldwide peaceful pro-life effort that consists of
three components: Prayer & Fasting, Community Outreach, and
Peace Vigil. With God’s help, 40 Days for Life will save
thousands of babies from abortion throughout this country and
abroad.
Please get involved...YOU can help!
The Orange County Peace Vigil is located at the Planned
Parenthood Abortion Center at 700 South Tustin Ave, Orange.
The hours are 6AM to 6PM every day. Please contact

World Mission Sunday
Is next weekend—October 18-19
Next weekend our parish will celebrate
World Mission Sunday.
This year we are invited to reach out and help build the
Church in Mongolia, the world’s youngest Catholic
Church, as well as local churches throughout the
Missions, in the most remote areas across our world.
Through the work of these churches, and their witness to
Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience
God’s love and mercy, His hope and peace. Please keep
the Missions in your daily prayers. We appreciate your
generosity in this collection for the Society for the
Propagation of the Faith. For mor e infor mation,
please visit www.iamamissionary.org.
Thank you!

Anointing of the Sick Service
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
will be held TODAY Sunday, October 12,
at 2PM in the Church
Who may receive the Sacrament?

Those preparing for a medical procedure or treatment.
Those experiencing mental or emotional stress.
Those living with recurring illnesses or disabilities.
Those living with a terminal illness or on hospice care.

Why should you receive the Sacrament?
The Anointing of the Sick conveys several graces and imparts
