Who we are?
Via Civic is an association established in 2004 by a group of young people, who
were united for important causes, concerning the life and the perspectives of
the Bulgarian youth. The association supports personal and professional
developments, active participation of the young people in the social, economic
and cultural life of the country. Our partners are from the civil sector,
educational organizations, local and national authorities. We work with young
people with different educational, professional, social and ethnic status and
according to their needs and interests we develop activities in the areas of:
human rights, educational and social integration, European citizenship,
democratic values, entrepreneurship, activities for youth employment,
volunteering, media and so on.
Via Civic realizes its own international (TC for youth leaders “I’ve Got The
Power To Be Entrepreneur!” 7-15.10.2013 in Dobrinishte, Bulgaria), as well as
national projects (seven months long project “Citizen” for the training of 30
volunteers ages 16 to 19)
Since the beginning of 2014, we as a part of the network TDM 2000
International, together with organizations from Italy, Latvia and Poland work
on the one-year long project “My vote is our future: youngster’s role in a
system based on representation”, through the Youth In Action program, with
aim to encourage young people’s participation in EU Parliament elections.
For 2013 and 2014 Via Civic association has sent 40 youngsters and youth
leaders in 10 exchanges and training courses.
Via Civic is a part of the international youth network TDM 2000 International
which has more than 20 European countries as members.
SUMMARY of the project
The idea of the project "2 PLUS 2 possibilities become 5 realities" arose
in connection with the undertaken EU initiatives and programs and the
engagement of the national governments to apply concrete measures for youth
activation and inclusion in different forms of employment and to encourage all
interested sides for cooperation and coordination between them. Our
experience in the field of national and international projects, sharing the actual
picture in the network TDM 2000 International where we are member, have
encouraged us to think how to support the NGOs to participate actively with
their expertise in finding solutions of the problems with youth unemployment,
what new knowledge, skills and competences are needed by the leader and
manager teams in order their organizations to become significant factor in this
process?
The frame of our training is made according to the main needs of our
NGO partners, identified with preliminary research. The project aims – to
support the professional development of leaders and teams and with that also
the capacity of the organization; to improve the recognition of the labor market
and the youth employment; to motivate proactive behavior for building and
managing effective and stable partnerships with all interested sides; to improve
the information and the skills for attracting and managing recourses in
common projects on a local, national and international level; to reach stable
results and financial perspective.
The project will gather together 32 youth leaders, youth workers, experts
and trainers from organizations of and for youths from 12 countries – Belgium,
Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia,
Slovenia and Turkey. The TC will be realized from 23rd October to 1st
November 2014 in Dobrinishte, Bulgaria by trainers with the respective
expertise. The methodology of non-formal education will be applied according
all the standards for education of adults, also interactive technologies,
innovative methods like improvisational theater and personal and career
couching,
As a result we expect that the leaders will develop new/improve skills for
stable creation and management of organizations and teams; will act as equal
