VTCA-VDOT Consultant Forum
Virginia’s transportation program continues to rapidly change. The State Legislature’s approval
of the historic Transportation Funding in 2013 is still unfolding and bringing unprecedented
changes to the Department and the Consultant Industry. This year’s Forum will focus on VDOT’s
plan and strategy to successfully and timely deliver new projects with the significant increase in
funding.
Managing and delivering the Commonwealth’s transportation program has taken on new
meaning in the last few years. VDOT’s reliance on the industry to help deliver the transportation
program continues to grow with the program.
Subsequently new initiatives, policies and strategies
to make the processes more efficient are being
implemented. Rather than making business decisions
on rumors and hearsay come learn directly from
VDOT’s leadership, including Virginia Secretary of
Transportation Aubrey Layne, Commissioner Charlie
Kilpatrick and Chief Engineer Garrett Moore, about
the details on Virginia’s goals and the strategies to
reach them.
Join representatives from VDOT’s engineering staff, municipal transportation officials and
consultant engineers at the 2014 VTCA-VDOT Consultant Forum to learn the latest on VDOT’s
initiatives, discuss important issues and challenges and address your questions. There is no
greater opportunity for the transportation engineering community to openly discuss the issues
that matter most to Virginia’s transportation engineering firms.
This year’s Program Topics include:
Discussion with Commissioner Charlie Kilpatrick, Chief Engineer Garrett Moore, members
of the Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads Local Transportation Authorities.
Details on the Department’s effort to evaluate and prioritize projects for programming into
the six-year plan.
Scheduled Sessions include:
 Latest Policy Changes for Consultant Procurement
 Design-Build & P3 Program Delivery
 Environmental Regulatory Changes
 VDOT’s Engineering Division Updates
 And more
2014 VTCA Engineering Awards and Scholarship Presentations
The Annual Consultant Forum is an informational and educational event jointly produced by
the members of the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance and the Virginia Department
of Transportation. The Forum brings VDOT, municipalities and the consultant engineering
industry together to discuss Virginia’s transportation construction and maintenance programs
as they relate to design, inspection and project management.
