claimed by Morocco lie within Western Sahara; Morocco also claims Oued Eddahab-Lagouira, another region
that falls entirely within Western Sahara
The Moroccan Royal Armed Forces, Civil Protection and Gendarmerie are often heard on HF with ALE calls. In this document we
try list as many frequencies and ALE-idents as we can.
Further information, corrections and additional frequencies and / idents are greatly appreciated.

Direction Générale de la Protection Civile – DPC
(Directorate General of Civil Protection)
The current DPC was established by a Decree of 15 December 1997 which covers the missions and organization of the Ministry
of Interior. In the following years the status and tasks changed. Following the Decree of 16 January 2009 the official name
became Direction Générale de la Protection Civile (Directorate General for Civil Protection).
Chain of Command:
- The DPC belongs to the Ministry of Interior and its director reports to the Minister of Interior.
- On Regional levels the Regional Civil Protection Commands are responsible for the security of the population and property.
DPC is placed under the authority of local governors or regional administrations.
- The High Commission of Civil Protection prepares, organizes and implements civil protection measures. Its members are
representatives of relevant ministries.
- The Permanent Inter-ministerial Committee for Civil protection coordinates the actions of different services in the areas.
- The Commission or Prefectural Provincial Civil Protection register the resources (human assistance, material, etc.) that are
available within the prefecture or the province.

Gendarmerie Royale Marocaine
(Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie)
At independence of Morocco, the Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie was created by Decree dated 29 April 1957 and replaced the
French gendarmerie legion of Morocco. In fact it just prolongs the organization, principles and tasks of the former Legion. The
Gendarmerie is part of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
The Royal Gendarmerie is organised as follows :
- Headquarter which conducts the classic duties of the organisation;
- 22 Regional Gendarmeries,
- 64 Companies of Gendarmerie and
- 22 posts of Gendarmerie where they are deployed to divided small security areas.
Garde Royale
The Moroccan Royal Guard is responsible for the security of the king and royal palaces. The Royal Guard is a Gendarmerie elite
force.
