This morning we complete our series on the church by focusing on our call to follow Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve. We welcome Adithya Muralidharan to morning worship at Hayes Barton Baptist. Adithya has played cello in several of our Hayes Barton orchestras, has participated as solo cellist in several of our special services, and was a section leader for Triangle Youth Philharmonic for several years before beginning studies at UNCSA. He is an eleventh grader this year. BBQ IN THE YARD--PREORDERS DUE WEDNESDAY On Wednesday, October 29, we will have our 7th Annual BBQ in the Yard Missions Fundraiser. Since we are combining this with our Fall Festival, we will be focusing on items that you will be able to take home and enjoy later! Our talented members and staff will be serving up some of their specialties. We will be selling Team David With’s award-winning BBQ by the pound, Greg and Dale’s famous Brunswick Stew by the quart, and Val’s delicious Chocolate Chess and Lemon Chess pies. The best thing you can do to guarantee that you go home with something is to pre-order! You can preorder using our website (www.hbbc.net), mail your order form or drop it by the church office, or place your preorders on Sunday (before Sunday School and after worship) and on Wednesday (during dinner). Everything will cost $10. Any orders received after October 22 will be filled on a first-come, first served basis on the day of the event. On the day of the event, you will be able to pick up your preorders from 11-2 in the afternoon, or during the Fall Festival. SPECIAL VETERAN’S DAY LUNCHEON--NOVEMBER 11 The children of VBS Day Camp would like to invite all veterans and active duty military to a special Veteran’s Day Lunch on Tuesday, November 11 at 12 o’clock at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall. Gary Butler is helping to promote the event to veterans through the USO. You can help by inviting friends and neighbors who have served. PLEASE register online (www.hbbc.net) or by contacting the church office. Space is limited. BAPTISM DURING WORSHIP--NOVEMBER 2 We are blessed as a congregation to celebrate the public profession of faith of our brothers and sisters at HBBC through baptism. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact one of our Ministerial Staff members. They will be happy to talk to you about baptism, to answer any questions that you have and encourage you in this next step of faith. CHURCH WIDE BUSINESS MEETING Make sure to join us next Sunday as we have the honor and privilege of electing a new class of Deacons in a Special Called Business Meeting following our Morning Worship Service. It’s such a blessing to elect and commission men and women who are called to serve the church.
