July 2014
Dear Friend:
We are pleased to announce The Training Source, Inc.'s 21st Anniversary Dinner & Auction, and we
enthusiastically invite you to join in our celebration on Thursday, October 16th from 6:00 p.m. - 9:30
p.m. at Newton White Mansion in Mitchellville, Maryland. The theme for the event is Engineered
for Excellence: Partners For Progress. This reflects our commitment to excellence in operations and
outcomes as we partner with individuals and organizations and achieve our mission despite tough
economic times. The Honorable Derrick Leon Davis, Member of the Prince George’s County Council, has
graciously agreed to serve as the Honorary Chair of our event. Also, Stephanie Gaines-Bryant, WTOP
News Reporter, will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening. And, real "Partners For Progress"
that expand our reach and impact in the Washington region will be highlighted during the evening.
The Training Source is an award-winning nonprofit organization that provides community-based
programs such as employment training for youth and adults, homeless services, youth leadership and
employability skills training, professional clothing for job seekers, assistance for citizens applying for
social and safety-net services, healthcare reform information, and more. We also work with employers
to fill their vacant positions with motivated employees and to train their existing team to be more effective and efficient. With 23,739 nonprofits in Maryland, and 3,541 in Prince George’s County, The
Training Source is one of only seven nonprofit organizations in Prince George's County to earn the
coveted Standards For Excellence® accreditation, which represents operations at the highest level of
ethics and accountability in the nonprofit sector. The Training Source’s motto is “We develop people,
not just skills!” and, during our 21 years of operation, we have assisted thousands of families in Maryland and the District of Columbia. For more information on our programs, staff and services, please visit
our website at www.thetrainingsource.org.
Why should you join in our celebration by supporting the event and/or our ongoing programs?
The Training Source works with the underserved members of society – your current and future customers,
employees, students, neighbors, or relatives – to assist them to realize their full potential. As they win,
you win and the economy is strengthened. That's a winning combination! Additionally, this event
annually attracts some of the area’s most respected professionals, offering great opportunities
to network and advertise your programs and services.
Please review the enclosed sponsorship and advertising opportunities and learn more about
how your contribution helps. We look forward to hearing from you and to celebrating with you
on October 16, 2014. Thank you for your consideration.
With Gratitude,
Faye Foster Hughes
