Job Description IT Support Officer JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title IT Support Officer (Mac OS) Salary Band 5 Location WRU Centre of Excellence, Hensol / Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Hours of work Standard working hours will normally be 35 hours per week. Responsible to This role may require the candidate to work extended hours, evenings and weekends as required Craig Philips Responsible for Support and development of all Apple OS products across the organisation Contractual Status Role Summary To work as a member of the IT Technical Support Team that support and develop a network of Apple OS systems for the Welsh Rugby Union; this includes day to day administration and trouble shooting of end users who currently have Mac OS products, the ability to diagnose software faults and hardware issues and report directly with vendors and suppliers to resolve. Travelling and support end users between sites occupied by the Welsh Rugby Union staff throughout Wales. This role involves working closely with Rugby departments on general Mac OS support and research and development projects Key Relationships Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities Carry out duties to help support the WRU/MS mission statement in line with the Company’s core values Permanent, Full Time Subject to 6 month probationary Period IT Department Analysis Department Rugby Performance Department General day to day technical support Troubleshooting with phone/desk/remote support Liaising with external support contractors if necessary Proactive maintenance of all Mac OS systems and associated network To ensure that all computers are fully up to date with the latest software and security updates Installation of new software Day to day maintenance ensuring end users and servers have the correct back up facilities operating Integrating all Mac OS systems into the WRU’s Active directory Assist the IT Manager in delivering a highly efficient Mac OS Job Description/IT Support Officer (Mac OS)/October 2014 JOB DESCRIPTION environment that underpins the WRU Group’s IT strategy Ensure that Mac users adhere to existing IT policies and company policies Installation and set-up of new IT systems To ensure that all computers are fully up to date with the latest software and security updates Assist IT Manager and other key stakeholders in researching/evaluating and implementing new technologies and IT projects General Audit all system and track new hardware purchases and be central point of contact for all Mac for the WRU Group and build up good relationship with suppliers Support and manage archive video for all rugby squads together with the Analysis Department working alongside the Coach Development Resource Manager Document and run training days for Mac users from basic functionality through to advanced The WRU are committed to providing CPD for the successful candidate. Continued Professional Development PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience Skills & Qualifications Key Competencies Experience supporting key Mac OS X and Server OS X products in a network environment is essential Experience of troubleshooting and installation of Microsoft Windows (preferable) A good understanding of general IT products, peripherals and technologies including the Internet, servers and network technologies (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN , etc.) Analysis software support (Sportscode) Creative applications support (Adobe Creative Suite/ Photoshop / Final Cut Pro) Experience and knowledge of Cloud Solutions experience and knowledge Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills Supporting and managing iOS and relevant devices Apple Certified Technical Co-ordinator Apple Certified System Administrator Apple Certified Associate in iWork Ability to document and transfer knowledge to fellow colleagues Effective organisation and administrative abilities Ability to respond to internal requests in an efficient and professional manner Job Description/IT Support Officer (Mac OS)/October 2014 PERSON SPECIFICATION Other A strong communicator Flexible approach to workload Willingness to learn high end IT processes used within Elite Rugby.
