We appreciated your support over the conversion weekend while we upgraded our systems to bring additional security, value and convenience to your RBFCU membership. Thank you for allowing us to serve your financial needs. OCTOBER 2014 Your New Statements As part of our conversion, we’ve worked to provide more detail on your RBFCU account statements. Beginning this month each account will have its own summary section to give you a high‑level view of your account transactions for that statement period. For more on your new statement format, check out the statement video at rbfcu.org/conversion. Below are just a few snapshots of changes you might see on your new statements. A If you have a checking account, transactions will be separated into sections that include deposits, Freedom Check Card and other transactions, and checks cleared, making it easier to reconcile each month. B In the loan section, your scheduled payment amount, next due date and loan number will be shown. If you have a Line of Credit (LOC) with RBFCU, you’ll see enhanced detail regarding your LOC, including your limit, advances and more. C If you have multiple Certificates with us, each one will be listed separately and include information such as, maturity date, time period of your certificate, rate, balance and dividend information. We hope you find your new statement easier to read and more efficient for balancing your accounts each month. You take great care in equipping your college-bound child with everything they need for a successful school year, but are you sure you’ve “covered” all the bases? If your student is living off-campus or attending an out-of-state college, it may be time to consider the benefits of renter’s insurance. Take time to do your homework: • Review your homeowner’s policy to see if your child’s apartment is covered. Does the policy offer a cash value or replacement cost for claims? • Update your insurance when your child begins living off campus. • If you’re concerned about risk exposure, explore the option of having your child take out a renter’s insurance and liability policy in their name. • When roommates are involved, have them consider purchasing a policy together and splitting the cost to make coverage even more affordable. Having a renter’s insurance policy is especially a good idea when dealing with the unknown — like the actions of a roommate. • Encourage your child to take pictures of their property, save receipts from large purchase items and record serial numbers when available. This will help in the event that your child needs to document a loss when making a claim. Renter’s insurance can be an affordable option that provides financial security and peace‑of‑mind.
