November 4 is Election Day
As Catholic citizens, we have a moral obligation to
participate in the political process. There are many
resources that serve to educate voters about the issues
and allow us to inform our consciences about which candidate will act in the best interest of the common good.
To learn more about the election and the candidates
running for governor, go to www.pacatholic.org. To
learn more about the U.S. bishops’ document, “Forming
Consciences for Faithful Citizenship,” go to http://

House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania General
Assembly in the diocese, watch The Catholic Accent and

Blanketing Many with Warmth…Diane Proctor a parishioner, a finance council member, and the 2014 Athena
Award recipient has now taken on the mission to comfort individuals in nursing homes and ease suffering during
dialysis and chemotherapy treatments. Her goal: to deliver over 100 blankets by March 2015! Diane has partnered with
Excela Health Hospice to distribute blankets to patients in March 2015. AND NOW Diane is teaming-up with
St. Raymond to help our Families in Need. BUT Diane needs your help. She cannot do this alone. You can help
by contributing any new and machine washable material. You can volunteer to make afghans, rag quilts, prayer shawls,
lap robes or no-sew fleece blankets. Or you can give a gift card to Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michaels or Wal-Mart to purchase
the items. To learn more you may read Diane’s full story on the bulletin boards or pick-up a flyer on the table in the
back of the church. You may also visit http://athena2014impact.weebly.com or call Diane at 814-243-8704.
Let’s help Diane blanket many with warmth!
(Envelopes are available on the table in the back of the church for your gift cards.)
