Clinical Research Experts - Turun kliininen tutkimuskeskus

Clinical
Research Experts
in the Hospital District of South West Finland and the
University of Turku
This catalogue is a collection of clinical research experts in the Hospital District of South
West Finland and the University of Turku. It has been compiled in collaboration with Turku
Science Park Ltd, to complement the material on the know-how of BioTurku®
(http://www.turkusciencepark.com/default.asp?viewID=395).
The catalogue lists the primary research interests, experience, qualifications and contact
information of clinicians and scientists from a variety of therapy areas. This catalogue is
aimed to attract the interest of the pharmaceutical industry and other medical and
biotechnological companies, who have a need for a clinical research expert. We also hope it
will be helpful to various research institutes and other scientists interested in research
collaboration.
If you are a clinical researcher at the hospital district or University of Turku and wish to enter
your details in this catalogue, please contact Turku Clinical Research Centre at
turkucrc(at)tyks.fi.
(http://www.turkusciencepark.com/default.asp?viewID=267).
Luettelo on
yrityksille, joilla on tarve kliinisen tutkimuksen asiantuntijalle.
tähän luetteloon, ota yhteyttä Turun kliiniseen tutkimuskeskukseen, turkucrc(at)tyks.fi.

The staff at the department of ORL-HNS consists of 24 physicians and 120 other staff. All
help and assist in clinical research as needed.
Three physicians are employed by the university and have primary responsibility of
conducting research, the other 12 specialist physician do research as time allows.
At any time 4-6 Ph.D theses are ongoing, annually 20-30 articles in international scientific
series are published.
Assisting personnel or laboratory facilities are not available at the ENT department for
basic research. The facilities for clinical research are good and the basic research is done
in collaboration with the respective basic science units at Turku University.
