Charlie Stevenson was born in Omaha Nebraska, but his family is from
northwest Missouri. At 2 years old his dad was transferred to Berlin Germany
with the Army, where Charlie attended kindergarten and became fluent in
German. His parents were divorced in 1954 and his mother moved him and his
sister to Phoenix. Charlie’s mother was a high school teacher and needed to
finish her masters’ degree at ASU and needed a childcare facility. Charlie and his
sister picked the Tinker-Tot Nursery School and 10th street and Indian School,
which was owned by Lillian Tucker. This is where she met and married Bob
Tucker, the founder of Tucker Tire.
Charlie worked at Tucker Tire as a boy, but left when he married Pam in 1967.
He and Pam have two daughters Christy 46 yrs. and Cheri 43 yrs. They also have
2 grand kids - Cole (13) and Christian (10). Charlie worked at Levitz Furniture
Co. for 4 years to support his family. In 1971 his father asked him to return to
Tucker Tire to help. Charlie bought the business from his father in 1981. At one
time Charlie had 7 locations and a wholesale division. He had 56 employees and
about 9 million a year in sales. Charlie’s life is much simpler now with one
location and 7 employees. Charlie’s hobbies include most anything to do with
the outdoors. He and his wife enjoy boating, water skiing, camping, horseback
riding, hunting, fishing, hiking, photography, and many other outdoor sports.
Tucker tire sells all major brands of tires and custom wheels. They have an ASE
certified master mechanic specializing in engine repairs or replacement, tune-ups,
brakes, air conditioning, emissions, electrical and preventative maintenance.
They have an ASE certified front end specialist to do wheel alignments and
suspension repairs. They can also install lifts and custom accessories. They are
open 8:00 To 5:30 Mon. thru Frid. and 8:00 to 1:00 on Sat.
Past President and ABAer of the year 1984.

Attendance
Please remember that you must attend 8

attendance requirement.
Also, remember that an alternate rep may
attend in place of the designated rep,
provided that the alternate rep shall not
exceed four meetings per year.
• If you must cancel your open house,
please do so at least a week in advance.
Holding an open house is the way
people get to know you in ABA.

open house at least once a year.
• As a courtesy to our speaker, attendance
credit will not be given for anyone
arriving at a meeting after the speaker is
introduced
