“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity,
but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
What keeps you up at night? FEAR is real!
FEAR can stop you dead in your tracks...no matter what
you are facing, but God has given you everything you need
to not only survive but to thrive. Mark your calendar and
invite your family and friends to the FEARLESS series.
Special guests live at CedarCreek Church!
Patrick Henry Hughes, a multi-instrumental musician
that was born without eyes and was unable to straighten
his arms and legs. See how Patrick Henry Hughes became
a full participating member of a 220-person college
marching band. Learn how he takes everyday challenges
in stride and seeks opportunities to excel. He has been
featured on Oprah, The Ellen Show, Extreme Make Over, The Grand
Ole Opry, People Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and many others.
At 17, Vitor Belfort moved to the United States,
eventually receiving his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).
By the time Belfort made his 1997 Ulitimate Fighting
Championship debut people expected that with a BJJ
background he would play the ground game. Instead, fans
saw a fighter with some of the fastest and most explosive
hands ever. First, Tra Telligman fell via technical knockout (TKO) after
1:17; then Scott Ferrozzo fell the same way after only 43 seconds,
giving Belfort a heavyweight tournament win. His first four Mixed
Martial Artists victories came by way of TKO in 3:04 combined!
Diego Sanchez participated and won The Ultimate
Fighter (TUF) reality television show in June of 2002.
During his time there, he gained a reputation as a
“Somewhat off the beaten path and highly spiritual
character” for being very vocal about his faith. There was
no doubt from day one that he was one of the favorites
to win the show. He defeated Alex Karalexis, Josh Rafferty, Josh
Koscheck, and finally Kenny Florian in the TUF 1 Finale to take home
the TUF 1 crown. He started his career with 11 straight victories,
several which came before TUF 1 and the UFC came calling.
