O LORD GOD ALIMGHTY! I

forsaken one, and bring it into Thy
glory, there to praise Thee and bless Thee forever.
Amen.

Saints Day. Don't ask me, I don't make these
rules...!
NOVEMBER: MONTH OF THE
SOULS IN PURGATORY
We know that November is the month,
which the Church dedicates in a special way to
prayer for the Souls in Purgatory. Today, more
than ever, when everyone seems to be
“canonized” after death, thereby depriving that
person of prayers, it is necessary that we reaffirm
our belief in the Church’s teaching. It is not a
mere pious belief, but the teaching of Christ’s
Church, that there is a place of purification
where souls go after death if they are still in need
of some purification from the remnants of sins
forgiven during their lifetimes.
One of the things we do, and you are so
faithful to this here at Holy Saviour, is to have
Masses offered for the souls of our beloved dead.
This is also the reason for the enrollment of your
deceased loved ones in the All Souls envelopes,
which are placed upon the Altar during
November.
Continue your fidelity and pray for, offer
your sufferings for and have Masses said for the
Souls in Purgatory. They will be your greatest
friends after they arrive in Heaven!
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL FORTY HOURS!
As usual, this Bulletin is prepared on a
Tuesday, meaning that we have completed two
of the three days of our Forty Hours devotion.
However, I cannot wait until next week to thank
and praise you, our devoted people, for your
excellent attendance and manifestation of faith in
the Real Presence of Our Lord by means of your
presence at the Forty Hours Devotion.
It was obvious that many took the
suggestion of coming to the 11:30 Mass last
Sunday, when the Forty Hours opened, even if
you do not normally come to that Mass. The
large number of Confessions on Sunday and
Monday evenings was particularly gratifying,
and I know that we all enjoyed Father Moriconi's
excellent sermons.
A particular thank you to our Choir!
They are always good, but Sunday's Mass and
the Evening Devotions have been especially
beautiful. Our Altar Servers, who give of their
time, along with the families who often need to
transport them, must also be thanked in a special
way.
Very often, priests and people remind me
that "this doesn't happen everywhere." I know
that, and I wish that it did happen everywhere,
but how proud we are and how grateful to God
we should be, that it happens here!
