assistance. Email preferred.

Scoring
Timing and scoring will be done using the ChampionChip timing system provided by Runners High.
Each runner will be issued one disposable chip that can be attached to either shoe. Timing mats will be
placed at the one-mile mark, two-mile mark, and the finish line.
Finish Line
The finish line area will not have a chute as in the past. However, the approach to the finish line and the finish line area
itself will still be roped off so spectators do not interfere with the runners. Its width will be determined by the width of the
timing mats. In the majority of cases, the chip will determine the official place; however, Race Officials will be at
the finish line and will be using the torso, as verified by the FinishLynx camera, to determine the order of finish
when it is tight at the line.
These are disposable Chips which, again, do not have to be returned after the races. However, if any Coach has
any Chips which were not used, we ask that you return only unused Chips and they must still be wrapped in the
cellophane wrapping.
Aiding & Abetting
This course is a great spectator course. Spectators and coaches will be able to view their runners at several strategic
points during the race without having to travel long distances. Coaches, runners, and spectators must be careful not to run
alongside athletes during the race. If a race official witnesses this behavior, the athlete involved will face a possible
disqualification.
Note: This has not been a problem in the past, but this course may easily lend itself to coaches, athletes, and spectators
unknowingly getting excited and infringing on the rules.
Parents &. Spectators
For the runners’ safety and following the rules of the PIAA, dogs and pets are not allowed at the site of the District II XCountry Championships. Please inform your runners and their parents of this rule.
Note: Please keep runners who may be watching a particular race to stay away from the timing mats if they are
wearing their Chips.
Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony will be held promptly at 4:00 pm on the bleachers in front of the Administrative tent.
Results
The results will be posted on the Internet at www.runhigh.com and at the District II website at http://www.piaad2.org/
Results will also be posted on a display board at an area to be announced.
BEST OF LUCK!
