The United Nations Association of Sweden and the Swedish National Defence College’s International Law Center have the pleasure of inviting you to the official launch of the anthology Att säkra freden (Securing Peace) followed by a seminar on the United Nations, Sweden and peacekeeping United Nations Peacekeeping Operations – Global Prospects and Local Challenges The upcoming review of the UN’s peacekeeping operations by the High-Level Panel on Peacekeeping Operations and Sweden’s engagement in the UN peacekeeping operation in Mali, Minusma, make military operations and peacekeeping increasingly prominent topics. The anthology Att säkra freden (Securing Peace) presents a variety of influential voices within the debate on future challenges and prospects for Sweden in international peacekeeping operations. Our keynote speaker is Mr. Ian Martin from the recently established UN Independent High-Level Panel on Peacekeeping Operations. Mr. Martin has previously served as the UN Special Representative to the Secretary-General and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya.
