The Centres are to work as catalysts for infusing the spirit of innovation and research in the Colleges through multi-College joint research projects and by actively involving postgraduate students in research, development and consultancy projects. These Centres are required to establish active linkages with the industry and research institutions in India and abroad. The PG Research Centre for Governance Systems (CGS) at GTU organizes its flagship event “CEOs in the Classroom” throughout the academic year. About Centre for Governance Systems (CGS) GTU has started working as a Monitor for Good Governance, which will make it possible to objectively determine how well the governance systems are working. It is initiating studies in the field of Governance System in Businesses, Industries, Universities, Hospitals, NGOs and Governments, which may help organizations improve their working, through new policies or through modification of existing policies, protocols and management structures. The Vision and goal CGS is to be a leading Centre for Excellence in Research, Teaching, Training and Advocacy in the field of Governance through capacity building, knowledge creation, and dissemination. About Space Applications Centre (SAC) Space Applications Centre (SAC) is a unique Centre of ISRO, dealing with a wide variety of themes from satellite payload developments to societal applications. SAC is responsible for the development, realization & qualification of communication, navigation, earth observation and planetary payloads and related data processing as well as ground systems in the areas of communications, navigation, remote sensing, disaster monitoring/mitigation, etc. About Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) 2nd Lecture Series of CEOs in the Classroom Programme on “Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) - Spacecraft & Mission” and a Workshop on “Research Opportunities at SAC (ISRO) Ahmedabad” is being organized by GTU (Centre for Governance Systems) in association with Space Applications Centre (SAC/ISRO), Ahmedabad. In the pre-lunch session, there will be an expert lecture on “Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) - Spacecraft & Mission” by Director, SAC. Researchers, Professors, Graduate, Post Graduate Students and Doctoral Students engaged in the field of Engineering and Management are encouraged to attend this seminar. Centre for Governance Systmes - GTU <<< SEMINAR ON “Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) - Spacecraft & Mission” 2 About the Seminar & Workshop Page MOM is mainly a "technology demonstrator" project to develop and demonstrate various technologies required for design, planning, management, and operations of an interplanetary mission. The Orbiter carries five scientific instruments that will help achieve its scientific objectives and advance our knowledge of Mars planet. With MOM’s success, ISRO has become the first Asian space agency to reach Mars and the fourth space agency after NASA, the Soviet space agency and the European Space Agency to achieve this feat. India is also the first nation to achieve successful Mars Orbit insertion on its very first attempt. The MOM spacecraft is currently being monitored from the Spacecraft Control Centre at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bangalore with support from Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) at Byalalu. >>> Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is India's first interplanetary mission with an orbiter craft designed to orbit Mars planet in an elliptical orbit. It was launched on 5 November 2013 by Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) PSLV-C25 rocket. The Mission is primarily a technological mission considering the critical mission operations and stringent requirements on propulsion and other spacecraft bus systems. The MOM spacecraft, also called Mangalyaan, has been orbiting Mars since 24 September, 2014 and collecting science information from Mars.
