PARISH
SACRAMENTS
SACRAMENT OF THE MOST HOLY
EUCHARIST
As a parish, the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass is central to who we are and what we do.
Normal Mass Times are listed on the front of the
bulletin. Please contact the office for special Mass
times during Lent and Holy Days of Obligation. To
receive your First Holy Communion, contact the
Parish Office, 896-9408.
SACRAMENT OF CONFESSION
Essential to the Christian Life, the
Sacrament of Confession is where we come into
contact with Christ who wishes to heal and bless us.
Regular Confession is an integral part of practicing
our Faith and experiencing the peace and joy of a
personal relationship with Jesus. 30 minutes before
every Mass, the Sacrament of Confession is offered.
If you need to receive the Sacrament of Confession
for the first time, contact the Parish Office, 8969408.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Through the waters of Baptism, the new
Christian enters the Church and is given Eternal
Life. If you would like to have your infant baptized,
please contact the Parish Office at least 2-4 months
prior to the baby’s due date so that there is enough
time to complete preparation for the Sacrament.
Parents
should
be
registered,
participating members of the Parish Family.
Candidates for Sponsors (Godparents) should be
attending Mass regularly. Both parents and sponsors
will attend a Baptismal Seminar before they receive
the Baptismal Packet which must be received before
an approved date is scheduled.
If you are a parent or an adult seeking the
Sacrament of Baptism, please contact the Parish
Office, 896-9408.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
In the beginning, God created mankind
as one, male and female. Christ elevated this union
to the level of a Sacrament, an image of His own love
for His Bride, The Church. Our Parish Family is
made up of many beautiful marriages who enrich the
Church and the world. Couples discerning the
vocation of Holy Matrimony should contact the
Parish Office to begin the journey of preparing for
their new life together no later than 6-9 months prior
to the desired wedding date.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF
THE SICK AND FUNERAL/BURIAL
ARRANGEMENTS
The Church and her Sacraments
accompany us at every moment of our life. When
we are very sick or nearing the end of this life, we
receive the healing of Christ through Anointing of
the Sick. Please contact the Parish Office, 896-9408,
to make an appointment.
Also, contact the office before you
contact anyone else in making funeral arrangements.
We will lovingly guide you through that most
difficult time.
NEW PARISHIONERS WELCOME
Please fill out a census card (located near the doors
of the church), call the Parish Office or register
online at the church website: www.sprcc.org.

FATHER LEDOUX’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR NOVEMBER
WORSHIP: In this month of November dedicated to The Holy Souls in Purgatory, we pray especially for the deceased members of St. Peter

FAITH FORMATION: For the young parents and children of our parish to be renewed in strength and courage against temptation as they
seek to love Christ and His Church above all else.
EVANGELIZATION: As we look to the end of our Liturgical Year and the culmination of our year-long observance of ‘140 years of Catholic
Faith and Service,’ may each of us today pray to be fruitful and effective missionaries of evangelization where Christ can be witnessed as
our true King.
SOCIAL JUSTICE: In this month, where as a Nation we celebrate Thanksgiving, may our hearts burn with a thankful love and reverence for
the poor as we count our many undeserved blessings.
BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES: In this month, dedicated to stewardship of gratitude, may we always remember to support our church parish

Memorial
Tuesday,
November 11th at 9:00am.
The
ceremony will take place at the new
Veterans Memorial located in
front of City Hall. Please join us as we honor and thank
our veterans for their service to our country!
VETERANS DAY – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH
May we remember that the freedoms we enjoy in our
most gracious home, the United States of America, did not
come without a price. May the Lord bless all those who
served, all those who continue to serve, and the families
that those serving left behind. May we never forget.
O God, by whose mercy the faithful departed find rest,
look kindly on Your departed veterans who gave their lives
in the service of their country. Grant that through the
passion, death, and resurrection of Your Son
they may share in the joy of Your heavenly kingdom and
rejoice in You with Your saints forever.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
~United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
AN ACT OF CONSECRATION FOR THE UNITED STATES
Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in heaven,
Who chose Mary as the fairest of Your
daughters; Holy Spirit, Who chose Mary as
Your spouse; God the Son, Who chose Mary
as Your mother; in union with Mary, we
adore Your majesty and acknowledge Your supreme eternal
dominion and authority.
Most Holy Trinity, we put the United States of America
into the hands of Mary Immaculate in order that she may
present the country to You. Through her we wish to thank
You for the great resources of this land and for the freedom
which has been its heritage. Through the intercession of
Mary, have mercy on the Catholic Church in America.
Grant us peace. Have mercy on our President and all the
officers of our government. Grant us a fruitful economy
born of justice and charity. Have mercy on capital and
industry and labor. Protect the family life of the nation.
Guard the innocence of our children. Grant the precious
gift of many religious vocations. Through the intercession
of our Mother Mary, have mercy on the sick, the poor, the
tempted, sinners – on all who are in need.
Mary, Immaculate Virgin, Our Mother, Patroness of our
land, we praise you and honor you and give ourselves to
you. Protect us from every harm. Pray for us, that acting
always according to your will and the Will of your Divine
Son, Jesus, we may live and die pleasing to God. Amen.
CJC SANCTITY SERIES:
Navigating the Spiritual Life by Using the Means to Holiness
Scripture
 Wherever the river flows, every sort of living creature
that can multiply shall live, (Ezekiel 47:9)
 Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken and
mountains quake to the depths of the sea, (Psalm
46:3)
 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and
that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians
3:16)
 Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up,
(John 2:19)
Reflection
 Where do you find God?
 How do you talk to God?
 Have you listened to hear God’s message to you?
 What is God’s message directed specifically to you?
The real purpose of meditation is this: to teach a man
how to work himself free of created things and temporal
concerns, in which he finds only confusion and sorrow, and enter
into a conscious and loving contract with God in which he is
disposed to receive from God the help he knows he needs so
badly and to pay to God the praise and honor and thanksgiving
and love it has now become his joy to give. (Thomas Merton)

“The promotion of the practice of stewardship is important for the
mission of the Church and for the spiritual well-being of each
individual Christian. Everyone benefits from the sacrificial gift one
makes of his time, talent, and treasure.”
~Pope

Benedict XVI
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS AND
STEWARDSHIP! BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT,
WE HAVE A WONDERFUL PLACE OF WORSHIP.
A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
In today’s reading from Saint Paul’s letter to the Christian community
at Corinth, he suggests that we are all called to e “wise master builders”
in the building up of God’s temple, the local Church. Each one of us
has been given gifts to offer this building enterprise, and we are called
to be good stewards of this project, to build this church together, in
communion with one another, according to God’s plan, not ours. Jesus
Christ is the solid foundation upon whom we are to build. Saint Paul
further suggests that God will judge us according to the quality of our
stewardship. Can we see ourselves as “master builders” of God’s
church? What gifts are we using to construct this holy place that God
will call home?

likeness of Your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest. May their
lives be pleasing to You. In Jesus’’ name we pray. Amen.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Almighty and eternal God, those who take refuge
in You will be glad and forever will shout for joy.
Protect these soldiers as they discharge their
duties. Protect them with the shield of Your
strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm.
May the power of Your love enable them to return
home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise
You for Your loving care. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
