June 15-19, 5:00 – 8:00p.m. Vacation Bible School will
be here soon! Registration forms are now available in
the office and on line. All children ages 3 years through
entering 6th grade are welcome! Please invite friends,
family, and neighbors. Registration is due by June 8th.
Volunteer forms are available for anyone willing to help.
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION BLESSING, May 18,
8:30am. The blessing for the high school graduates will

on Sunday May 18 at the 8:30am worship service.
There will be a cake reception following the service to
congratulate our seniors.
The third annual SAINT JOHN LUTHERAN QUILTS
AND MORE SILENT AUCTION is coming! Look for it in
late September. This event helps support our youth
summer at camp and the high school trip. Now is the
time to consider making something to contribute to this
event!!! Besides quilts, other handmade fabric items
(e.g., aprons, purses, tote bags...) have been popular.
Further details forthcoming.
THE WORSHIP COMMITTEE will not meet in May. The
next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on June 10.
CHILDRENS SQUARE USA - Looking for Summer
Volunteers. We are scheduling our summer Bible Study
lessons and are wondering if you would be interested in
joining us as a teacher. Our summer schedule for bible
study is 6 lessons focusing on Forgiveness, Parables
and Being a Child of God. We will meet on Thursday
evenings, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m., June 19 & 26 and July 10,
17, 24 and 31. Please call me if you have more

BETHANY PIANO FUND UPDATE: We’re half-way
there!! The Baby Grand Piano in the Worship Center at
Bethany has served many individuals over the years and
is needing to be replaced. The cost to replace it with a
trade-in is $8,800. We want to thank those “Piano
Partners” who have already contributed towards the new
piano. It’s not too late for others to be a part of the
project. To contribute, please send your donation to
Bethany Lutheran Home Piano Fund, 7 Elliott Street,
Council Bluffs, IA 51503. Please mark your contribution
